It's made of solid surface. Like corian, in a way.

Is it possible to install this in a shower? Is it tiled or has it a finished edge?

There is a finished edge to it. The shower wall is tiled, but the finished edge of the caddy is exposed and overlaps/covers the tile wall's rough edges.

Are the measurements given for the outside edges of the shower wall material, or for the dimensions needed to cut it out?

I ordered two of these, but only one was delivered, so I had to return one. I later ordered the Matrix Summit, which was a yellow cream color rather than the yellow shown in the picture.
