The price is too high and the quality is inadequate

In this case, the item is sold without a threaded pipe to connect it. I will elaborate on this observation once I show what the item should contain. There is an omitted item that is half price A pipe of 12 inches, threaded at each end, with a narrow "connecting" section in the middle (smooth or able to be accessed by a hex driver). The ideal diameter for this pipe would be around 4 or 5 inches and it would have constant diameter threads. Once the ends are taped, the ends are screwed into the wall and the fittings are fitted to the wall as far as required. What is the length of this post? The only thing you have to do is to cut the ends of the pipe A solution like that is both beautiful and elegant. Installing time, on average, takes less than 15 minutes when using the right tools I have a problem with my hand. So what is this all about? There are no threaded pipes available at Lowes, Home Depot etc that have a constant internal and external diameter (thread). A particular point on the thread is sufficient to create a seal and allow the thread to "bite" into it. It is also possible to turn the pipe maybe a half turn to grind the metal threads together and to This is not the case here, and we are not interested in that. To be able to adjust, we must be able to adapt. As I was unable to find any plumbing supplies at Lowes, Home Depot, and Ace Hardware, I set out to find specialist plumbing stores. Unfortunately, this does not work! The whole exercise was a complete waste of time and money. I eventually turned to a friend with a professional lathe who drilled the threads. It took two days to install. As someone who has purchased many Delta plumbing items over the years, I have come to the firm conclusion that Delta doesn't like the DIY homeowner. In terms of quality, the item is pretty good however, it is pretty expensive for what is dubious metal and cheap plastic.

Complete the installation
5/5

As I was roughing in the elbow, I spent half an hour trying to guess between 1/16th and 3/16th of an inch when my wall thickness was 1/16th to 3/16th. My nipple was sticking out towards the tile an inch too far, which caused the gasket to not sit flush against the tile. I ordered this nipple from Amazon and now the gasket is sitting flush away from the tile. I was able to tighten the knob another 1/8th plus of an inch by using a socket because the female PC had now been installed inside my wall and I had no way to tighten it unless it was hex type. In the event this did not work, I would have had to open the wall and reset the depth of the female end. I was able to get the nipple that I purchased from Amazon to sit perfectly between 1/6th of an inch and 3/16th of an inch once I received it. I used Teflon tape to secure the elbow and it works fine. I did have to buy 2 of these because the first one I did not tighten properly and the rag slipped off scratching all over the elbow. So, I went through 2 different nips and 2 elbows, but in the end the piece sits tight against the wall, has a black gasket behind it, looks great, and is of excellent quality. I wish they had used a slip adjustment when you slide it on and tighten from below, with a more user-friendly adjustment that gave greater than a 1/16th to 3/16th inch adjustment. One star has been removed for this reason.

That looks nice, but I found it a little difficult to install for my husband

According to the instructions for installation, you should allow 3/16"-4" for the installation In terms of numbers, it's 1 1/4" (if I remember right. I only have a very small amount of room for error) of the nipple sticking out of the tile to allow for tight fitting Setting your plumbing and repiping systems should be prepared for that if you're using them for new construction You can then tile/backer if you are an expert. Even for a normal DIY'er, figuring out how to figure out that little measurement allowance can be tricky. The thickness of the backer plus the thickness of the mortar and the cement must be calculated If you want the tile to be 3/16" thick, add 3/16"-4" to the tile thickness Use a third of an inch for the nipple and pray for a good end result. The unit was not perfect!
Tightening the unit on, with the included black plastic seal (which you can see in the picture), was the most difficult part. This was due to our installation of the 1/4" square sticking out of the wall not being 90 degrees straight. The measurement was just a little off, by barely noticeable amounts! Additionally, getting the bolts to tighten was extremely challenging because there were no places for a wrench to grab them without scratching them. The small and slick shape made it difficult to hold onto it while it was tightening to the wall barehanded. It is basically just a matter of spinning the entire system onto the wall and using the gasket seal. On the final turn, our nipple was not straight enough for the seal to sit properly and bound up against the tile. *Sec>He wrapped a wrench in a towel to tighten it after removing the gasket seal to make it work. There is a scratch on this and the pretty shiny metal is flaking away, revealing the less shiny metal underneath. That is really upsetting to me. Although it looks nice, I wish we had been more careful when it came to the installation of the plumbing and ensured that the angle was exactly 90 degrees to In order to avoid this, make sure that your pipe sits exactly straight, does not stick out too far, and does not inch inside the wall too much. It is very difficult for you to make a mistake. Our plan is to simply use caulk around the unit to ensure a watertight I really appreciate the length of the hose. I'll have no problem reaching into my huge shower with this!.
