Questions & Answers
The upper glass does not have a notch. The clamp is designed to be placed directly on the glass in a specific area. We positioned ours about three inches from the top.
It wasn't in a crate; instead, it was in a box. Styrofoam packaging was used to keep the box secure.
First and foremost, I require additional specifications for the tray; this glass is very heavy; the channel must be level and at a 90-degree angle to the wall, and it must be secured with silicon and screws. I fuze it on the bottom of the channel, you can get it at big hardware stores or on Amazon, then you put a small amount of silicon in the track, place glass in track very close to the wall, slide until you hit wall track, then secure your wall clip, good luck, I hope I explained this well enough, the silicons are water proof and help secure track.
The door came with a set of instructions. After the installation, we discarded them. To learn more, go to www. fabglassandmirror is a website dedicated to providing high-quality glass and mirrors. com and ask for instructions on how to install it.
Selected User Reviews For Fixed Shower Panel | Water Repellent | Tempered Glass with Oil Rubbed Bronze Finish 24"x60" by Fab Glass and Mirror
The package was in good condition when it arrived. It's simple to set up, and only one person is required. It appears to be fantastic. The 24" fits perfectly in our extra-small bathroom. With normal showering, some water gets on the bath mat, but we don't mind having a panel instead of sliding doors. It requires very little maintenance. It's been in place for a few weeks and has remained spotless.
If you read any reviews about things breaking while being picked up or installed, it's because the installers had no idea what they were doing! It's simple to install if you follow the instructions and know what you're doing. You saved me $350 over buying the same thing from an overpriced glass distributor!.
When my husband removed this shower door from the box, it shattered. He didn't knock it over or drop it. It shattered into a million pieces as soon as he picked it up. His hands, arms, legs, chest, and neck are all covered in deep cuts. (I'm not going to show you any pictures. ) I would not recommend this product.
There are three issues with the installation instructions and the hardware that came with it: On the glass's edge, a long strip of silicone gasket must be installed and compressed against the tile wall. It's a very tight fit that's difficult to adjust once it's in place. The instructions make no mention of it. Second, and related to the first, the wall-mounted attachment plate has no play or adjustment, necessitating full compression of the silicone gasket prior to insertion of the through bolt. Finally, plastic shims are used to cushion and level the glass in the base track; however, because they are only 1/4" wide and the track is 3/8", they easily move out of place and cannot be stacked if necessary. Perhaps including a peel-and-stick option would be beneficial. I also had to replace the low-quality supplied fasteners with SS screws.
To enclose the side and back of a shower, I used two 36-inch-wide panels. The product was well-packaged and arrived in just a few days, undamaged. Before accepting the package, make sure you open it and inspect the glass. It's easier to refuse the trucking company's broken glass and leave it to them to deal with. The most difficult part of the installation was drilling the holes in my very hard porcelain tile; if you're doing porcelain or other hard tile, make sure you have a good quality diamond drill bit and measure very carefully (twice) before drilling holes in your tile. You'll also need a good quality glass suction cup lifter that can handle the nearly 100 lbs the panel weighs. A second person will be needed to guide the glass into the bottom track and to keep the panel plumb while you mark the tile for the upper bracket. A vinyl trim piece is included, which fits over the glass along the wall's edge. You can use the trim piece to compensate for minor flaws in tile "flatness" or a slightly out of square wall/base - If you're out of square by more than a few degrees, you'll have trouble installing the product, and this isn't the product for you. The quality and finish of all of the components were excellent. However, the product does not include a corner support to brace the top of the glass against the wall, and after installation, I felt that the glass was not well supported. There are numerous corner braces available for purchase, and I strongly advise you to do so.
The installation was simple, and the glass was flawless; however, after a year, I noticed that the brushed nickel U channel had developed a white powder on both the inside and outside of the finish. I had no idea what it was, but I managed to get rid of it. After two years, I can say that the brushed nickle is completely covered in this white corrosive substance that looks almost like battery acid. Where you try to rip it off, the metal becomes pitted. I've spoken with other installers, and they've told me that a lot of imported metal bathroom products do this. My shower head and cross bar, both of which cost a lot of money and are listed as stainless steel, work perfectly and look great. So I'm guessing the issue is with the process of covering the aluminum U channel. CRL in California has just delivered a stainless steel 304 U channel, which will be installed next week. I'm hoping to get rid of this corroded aluminum U channel quickly. I would advise against using the U channel when ordering shower glass. Save yourself the time and effort of disassembling it in two years. This is extremely distressing.
I was concerned about receiving it in good condition, but it arrived on time (within 3 days) and in perfect condition, with all pieces of hardware included as promised. Because it is heavy and must be leveled, it requires two people to install, but no professional installation is required. I'm very pleased with the outcome!.
This is without a doubt the most beautifully packaged item I've ever received. br>br>The hardware was not the same color as my oil-rubbed bronze fixtures. I used a little Rustoleum Hammered Oil Rubbed Bronze on the parts, baked them, and they are still perfect three months later. I'd place another order.
