Yes, I agree! They were not sealed in plastic, but were simply placed inside an Amazon box and had dust on them.
My favorite way is to change it once a year.
Since I started buying these replacement filters for our showers, on Amazon, 3 years ago, I have never had an issue with the filters not fitting or not working.

This replacement filter causes brown sediment to fall out of the shower head for a few seconds before it clears up. The filter that came with the initial shower head worked fine, while this replacement filter causes no sediment to fall out. It does not suds up at all when I remove the shower head entirely and run the water. A product I am not happy with.
UPDATE The Propur replacement filter was sent free of charge after we contacted them.
The packaging of this filter is making me question its authenticity because it makes it seem as though it was manufactured by a third party. The filter can be obtained by anyone and the paper printed with the word "pure. " can be obtained by anyone. My next step is to contact Propur.
ProMax is a much better filter than Nikken which we previously had. Nikken barely filtered anything and was broken after a couple of years. The customer service from their company was terrible, which is why this shower filter is better. You can start with these tips You may have to wrap some thread sealing tape around it a few times to fit it snugly on your shower fixture. When you screw the ProMax onto the shower fixture, it will fit perfectly. There will then be no leaks. I bought the original Propur shower filter about a year ago, and it was fine, however I wanted to replace it. My other filter did not come with silicone rings since it fit into the apparatus snugly. This filter is a different size than the original and comes with 3 rings instead of 2. Due to me not changing my air filter every six months (as is usual for filters), my air filter began to mold just a little after 16 months. We should limit them to no more than nine months from now on.
I found that the replacement propur filter failed to perform as well as the original filter that came with the shower head. Unfortunately, I am disappointed in the poor quality of this product and feel it was a waste of money. I have purchased this exact filter a number of times, and it does appear to be used even though it is supposed to be brand new. The filters have (black carbon) in them you must run the shower for at least 10 seconds before using them to get rid of A strange smell comes from this one. There was no carbon in this one. It is very expensive to replace this item, so I am very disappointed.
Propur was selected as my shower filter after researching several others since it is the only one that removes drugs as well as In other words, the price is definitely more than the basic Culligan filter, but for the sheer amount of water your body absorbs every day when you take a shower you are grateful.
