Neither do I like writing bad reviews, but I hope that anyone reading them will benefit. Trying to choose a shower filter to replace my old Aqua Bliss shower filter, I was tempted by the lower price and the great reviews. Perhaps the other reviewers are getting paid to update their reviews to 4 or 5 stars apart from me, or perhaps this is one of those companies that pay you to do so. As a side note, I don't know if this is the case here, but as a general observation, I appreciate honest reviews and I spend a lot of time reading reviews before I make a purchase. I noticed that the water I was getting coming out of this filter smelled strongly of ammonia from the moment I installed it for the first time. My eyes turn bright red when I get out of the shower at home in LA due to the poor quality of the water. It dries out my skin and hair, and makes my skin and hair dry. I experience flaking of the scalp as well. All of that was made possible by the Aqua Bliss. I got all the old symptoms back the minute I changed the filter. I don't think it was a coincidence because I smelled it immediately. Although I was hoping it would get better with time, I'm now going to have to throw out both of them and purchase Aqua Bliss again.
I only decided to write this review because I was scratching my scalp and skin while I sat here and remembered how disappointed I am in them. Although I purchased back in November, I have not installed it yet due to the fact that my Aqua Bliss still had a few months left in it. If I had known it would take an unreasonable amount of time to return, I would have come back Please accept my sincere thanks and take the time to read this review. The price is good if they happen to work for you, but I want to rate zero stars. It might work for you if your skin is not sensitive or if you live in an area where the water is not bad. Yet, if that is the case, why would a filter be necessary?.

I took the chance, but it would not have been the last. I purchase these refills because they fit perfectly in the filter housing and to be honest, my hard water makes this an excellent purchase! Because we use less body wash, shampoo, and conditioner in our shower, we use less body wash, shampoo, and conditioner! Saving money for us is a great benefit. The installation process is very simple. There was some leaking at first, but it was just a matter of tightening my hands a little and it was fine. This filter has really impressed me. My plans are to buy one for under the cabinet in the kitchen and one for the washing machine (of course behind it). This didn't hinder the height of the shower head at all, and wasn't too bulky behind it as well. I love this new water on my skin and love the smell as well. As someone who has battled calcium build up over the years and with having to clean EVERY faucet so frequently in order not to damage it or reduce the flow of water, I am extremely satisfied with this product.

There is a great deal of iron sulfate in the water that I use. Water using only soap (or in this case, in the shower) will not only turn your clothes orange, but also release an odor similar to rotten eggs. As soon as hot water becomes a gas, it releases a strong odor of sulfur. When I was a child, I was absolutely nauseated when I took a shower. My shampoo, conditioner, and body wash all work better when I have this filter in place. It not only eliminates the sulfur smell, but makes the water softer and more filtered to remove the hardness of the water. As much of the stuff they filter out of the water as they do, the filters do not last as long as I would like, but I'm guessing they last a decently long time for the amount of stuff they filter out. They are one of the cheaper brands, but they are just as good as the others I have had. All of the filters I have used similar to this last the same amount of time. For a second time, I have purchased these and I have every intention of doing so in the future.

This really did remove a chemical or chlorine smell from my shower water that I hadn't noticed before-- I am probably an expert in showering, but this was completely new to me. I did not know it was possible until I began using these filters in a shower head I designed. After several months, I've seen little to no limescale growth. Before, this was not a big problem at all, but now there is no limescale in the system at all. It has been over a year since I started using it. A couple of times a year, I replace the filter.

With the hard water in our home, I noticed that my hair was turning brassy, frizzy, and breaking. My shower head became so much cleaner and more efficient after I installed this filter.
