According to Moen, mounting should be done with three screws per stud. The problem is, though, that this is difficult to do with some lengths, such as those about three feet long. 12" in length. It is true that Moen has the hollow wall mount that is a good design, but I didn't want to spend that much money. Rather then using screws, I used an "WingIts MAWSD35B24" anchor [also sold by Amazon] to attach to drywall and a Corian-attached to the wall in the toilet area [Used the Wingits drill bit as suggested in the directions - for shower surround Exactly the right size and type of hole is drilled. After a while on the circular base, I began using only two on opposite sides. This results in less dry wall being taken out of the walls [which themselves weaken the walls], and it is faster as well as I've noted that Wingits also offers a circular mount that resembles Moen's hollow wall mount in both concept and price, however it only fits Wingits grab bars, from what I understand. The two anchor bolt system with circular disk also looks like it could work with the Moen grab bar system. According to my observation, the bolts are essentially identical to the ones I bought separately. In any case, it's more expensive than buying a single anchor, and I don't see any advantages over the way I did it. By the way, I have installed 12", 16", and 32" Moen grab bars using this method. There is a great deal of security in all.

I have two of these 12" Moen units installed in my bathrooms, and they are excellent. My experience with the product has been good, the price is right, and I was able to install it myself. Make sure that the upper and lower holes are over studs to give the construction the best amount of stability. Use a stud finder to make certain the upper and lower holes are over studs. An expansion board that is just used in wall board will fit in the other two holes. As far as the purpose intended is concerned, I highly recommend them.

Despite its light weight, this grab bar is incredibly sturdy. you will need to purchase the Secure Mount Anchors separately if you wish to mount the screen into drywall. For each grab bar, you will need two. As far as the color is concerned, it appears more like stainless steel than brushed nickel, but still looks great when paired with the Installed correctly, these look great and will be a great help to anyone with balance issues or who wants additional security when bathing.
