A bar with a diameter of 1 1/4" is available.
There is no particular shine to the bath bar (it is not There is more of a "brushed" appearance to it.
While I don't think the 1 1/4" size is specifically made for smaller hands, my guess is that size would work better than the 1 1/2" size.

Although the installation video portrays the securemount hardware as included in the product, the actual product does not come with it. Wood screws are included with it, and studs are the only thing that will hold it on The securemount hardware must be purchased separately, at TWICE the price of the grab bar, if it is to be mounted to sheetrock.
I don't have a problem with I'm writing to let you know that your company name is gold - For a good company, this kind of hardware has tremendous value why would you ruin it with cheap, foreign parts? Get rid of your hardware buyer and hire someone who knows what they are doing, and don't follow the accounts when it comes to making decisions. That's not a fair valuation of your brand. The two bars I bought were both from Trader Joe's. These are exactly what you see in the description, and they are well constructed. There were a lot of problems with the hardware. In two cases (two bars), the screws had tilted (bent) heads. They also had coarse thread pitch (hard to thread into 2/4 even with a pilot hole) and the head slots were too shallow and the wrong shape. No way to keep a #2 Phillips in them without the head camming out and being torn up. In the end, I was about 1/4" shy of victory after destroying two of them. A quick trip to ACE Hardware netted me 12 properly pitched stainless steel screws with popper #2 heads, and I had both bars installed within half an hour. Hex or Torx heads would also be ideal. Take your purchase to your favorite hardware store and pick up some quality hardware to install them. Throw away all but one of the screws. The time you'll save and the blood pressure you'll lower will benefit you.
Due to the product description as well as the video demonstration of proper installation guide, I decided to purchase this safety bar. Reviewers have given 5 stars to all current reviews. chose this video for several reasons, including that it was described as Amazon's Choice, plus I see that it uses SecureMount for hollow walls. The perfect solution for my problem In order to get two sets, I bought two. It is a good idea to have safety bars, but what about the hollow mounting hardware for the walls? What do you know? As you might imagine, that isn't Throughout the advertisement, it did not mention that the hardware shown was not included in the In addition, it was not shown as an add-on purchase in frequently bought together arrangements. I filled out the online customer service form for Amazon, it prompted the response, "Sorry to hear that. ". If you have a question, contact the maker. What do you mean by that? Amazon is listed as the seller of this item and it is bought and shipped from them. Please visit www. com. Therefore, I will not be contacting the manufacturer and I am therefore so disappointed with Amazon's false product description that I will not be contacting them.
This isn't true at all! of all, it is not included, you will have to purchase it for $21 if you are interested in the SecureMount system. It is required to pay 32 cents for each mount, and it has a pull rate of only 300 pounds (which does not meet ADA standards). A very misleading description of the product. With the Grab Bar you also get 6 stainless steel wood screws with phillips heads, 2 inches long. It is necessary to find a wood stud in your sheet rock wall before you can install this method. Typically, studs are 16" on center or 24" on center, at doorways and at short walls, but the actual distance can be determined by the carpenter who built your home. Installation of this system will allow you to have a pull rate of 500lbs, and the ADA requirements will be met. Despite the video and written description of the SecureMount, it may not be as easy to install as it appears in the video.
My husband is safe after the bars were installed by our local contractor, since they are strong and sturdy. After a couple of weeks of showering in the morning, specifically in the shower bath, one of the bars is starting to rust. Quite frankly, I'm not sure why a company with all the experience and expertise that Moen has should produce a product like this.
This grab bar is fantastic. It is rock solid, and provides great safety in the shower or around the house. I like it! A brief update Bars 19 are excellent for heavy duty use. The screws that come with the package are horrible, however. It is nearly impossible to tighten them properly because they tend to strip out the Phillips screw hole. Making sure each one is removed. It's a waste of time. There is a reason for this - so all you "monster men" out there don't overtighten over tiles or ceramic and crack the tiles. If you are a normal person with a little bit of judgement. A set of "10 (3/16) x 2"
STEEL SCREWS with stainless washers in hex head is recommended. Using a nut driver instead of a screwdriver and tightening properly will help to avoid problems. Installing over porcelain or tile should be done carefully so that the grout does not crack. Whether you need to remove the hex heads is also an option with hex heads.
I really like the look of this product! I am very pleased with the I was very pleased with how easy it was There were only a few things I wasn't happy with, namely the screws. It took me three screws to strip them off. After getting my replacements from Lowe's, I went to a better store.
While the bar itself is great, and the covers snap on easily, the stainless mounting screws cannot be used unless you do the following You should mount the bar to melted butter or something similar. I mounted two bars, one to a wood door frame and another to a 2 x 4 stud in a bathroom wall and every one of the stainless screws stripped out before they were halfway in. Using deck screws to mount was about as good as it gets due to the fact that they are all Is it really necessary for a manufacturer to create a post this strong and then give me such poor hardware to attach it to? When you buy these bars, which I recommend, you should make sure to buy some tempered deck screws to mount them. The screws are preferably 6 stars, however, because they are tempered and heat hardened and coated with a paint that won't rust. But they could have received 6 stars had it not been for the screws.
