Questions & Answers

Is this screen effective at preventing no-see-ums from entering? ums?

Yes! The Small Insect Screen is perfect for keeping no-see-ums at bay. ants, gnats, sand flies, and other small annoyances

What is the density of the screens? 20 by 20?

I can't say for sure, but we use it in Florida for Nats and no-see-ums, which are very small. The screen was of good quality, but it took about ten days to arrive.

Is it possible to keep fruit flies away with this method?

I'm confident it will, as long as it's installed correctly.

What is the size of the mesh?

20 squares per inch, I believe it was.

Bugs were less likely to get in, but not completely eliminated
4/5

Based on the weave compared to a quarter (which is 0. ), it's most likely 20x20. 75"), but I still couldn't get rid of all the bugs. There are a lot of tiny bugs around because I live near a river. My goal was to be able to open the windows at night to let the cool air in, but there are usually about a hundred bugs (no-see-ums) in the house. Gnats, if you're talking about them. Flies that are black in color? With normal screening, they crowd around the lights within an hour or two (I have no idea what they are, but they bite and itch like crazy). So far, about 20 bugs have gotten in after only one night of use. So, while it's a step forward, I still can't leave my windows open, so it's a failure. However, this may work well for people who are dealing with different bugs than I am. I'm in the woods in Maine, just to let you know.

This isn't fine enough for no-see-ums
3/5

I live on the bank of a river, so I get a lot of no-see-ums. In the summer, watch out for ums and other small insects. I had high hopes for this screen, but they can still get in if the window is left open. To make sure they couldn't get around the screen, I caulked it to the window frame. They don't seem to be having any trouble with it.

The no-see-ums aren't kept out
3/5

ums. . This screen was purchased for the purpose of making screens for our camper van. We get a lot of biting no-see-ums around here. In our state, there are ums. The final product looks fantastic and keeps flying insects at bay. with the exception of the venomous no-see-ums This screen is supposed to be for ums, according to the advertisement. They can easily get in and out of the screen holes, leaving us to be eaten alive at night. not fun. It gets two stars because it keeps mosquitos, flies, wasps, and other insects at bay. No-see-ums, on the other hand, are a biting no-no Ums can be as bad as, if not worse than, being bitten by a mosquito.

Bugs are kept out, though some smaller mosquitos were able to get through a standard gauge screen
5/5

Where I used to live, there were a lot of bugs. With so many small mosquitos and gnats buzzing around it, the area around my table lamp looked like it was an outside street lamp. br>While researching better screen options, I discovered that replacing your window screens is a simple DIY project. So far, it's kept them out, but it's been pretty cold lately, so I haven't had a chance to test it out. Using a utility knife/box cutter, spline (rubber/plastic tubing that holds the screen against the frame), and a spline tool, you can redo your screens yourself. It takes approximately ten minutes to complete. The process is outlined in a video by ADFORS. If you have really small bugs that you want to keep out, try the Adfors Pollen screen, which has a finer mesh.

For the time being, it appears to be functioning properly
5/5

Much more effective than the original in terms of insect protection. I got this after noticing that the tree outside my window had started to bear fruit, and I was getting a lot of bugs. Are the lights drawing you in? I chose this because it was one of the few options listed with certifications. It was relatively simple to set up. I re-used the old spline and carefully inserted it with a flat head and other flat tools. It appears to be working well so far. It's listed as a 20x20 construction on the adfors website, but I couldn't verify that on Amazon. The holes are significantly smaller and denser than the one it replaces, but I was hoping for a smaller one. The test will be this summer; air flow appears to be adequate, and I haven't noticed any new bugs in my room. The material was simple to work with, and even a few misjudged jabs with a flat head failed to pierce it. After a few months, I'll check in again.

Amazing! Because I live next to a stream, we have a wide variety of bugs, including the "no see 'ums," which were able to get through the old screen with ease

AND. The floor is kept immaculately clean at all times. I don't have to cover the food as it defrosts. br>br>Because I have old, worn-out hands, I had them installed by a screener.

This was precisely what I was looking for
5/5

Two outswinging doors are on the backside of my home. Because I live in the South, we don't get to open our doors as much as we'd like, but I do enjoy opening the front and back doors in the morning before the air conditioning kicks in. Rather than paying an exorbitant price for two screen doors that would work for outswing exterior doors, I simply stretched this screening over a tension rod and inserted it into the door opening. It's long enough to have a hem at the top for the tension rod and wide enough to be snug from side to side. I used weights in the bottom hem to keep it in place and prevent it from blowing in the wind. After the beautiful Autumn season is over, I'll simply store the tension rod and screen until the next time they're needed. This solution has made me very happy.

As others have mentioned, the mesh isn't very fine
3/5

My standard window screen has almost imperceptibly smaller apertures. MAGZO High Density Window Screen, 39''W x 99"L Clean Air DIY Adjustable Screen Door Replacement, Durable Effective Pollen/Dust/Floc/Rain Barrier Net for Windows and Sliding Doors (135 Mesh, Black) Note, however, that the finer screen doesn't appear to be very sturdy, so I'll keep this just in case.
