A fantastic display! I've never seen a screen like this. I have three indoor cats, one of whom enjoys jumping on the screen door. My cat had jumped on the old screen while chasing bugs, and it had holes. This same screening was purchased for my other two doors a year ago, and they still look brand new. My cat still jumps on my doors when they're open on a nice cool day, but there are no holes or rips. The fabric used to make these screens is incredible! That's why I went out and bought more to replace the screen on my third door. I plan to use this same screen to replace all of the window screens in the future. If you have pets or children, this screen is a must-have. br>This is some tough stuff!.
I was concerned that it would be too heavy. It was required to replace the screen in the storm door, which Kitty had ripped out while attempting to gain entry. She got the job done. br>It went in without a hitch. Because I didn't remove the window from the door and did it all by myself, I expected it to be difficult. It was simple for me, even though I'm 75 years old. I did, but with a smaller spline. br>br>I'm not sure if it'll hold a cat climbing on it yet, and I'm hoping she doesn't try again.
I initially purchased a white screen in the hopes of making it easier to see through, but it was terrible, so I replaced it after a month with a charcoal colored screen. It's clear which option gives you more visibility. Both were simple to set up and functioned as expected, but the color is an important consideration.
My first few replacement screens were ripped from my dogs chewing on them (due to hail damage). My 80-pound and 70-pound Golden Retrievers br>br>Since then, I've had a few instances where they failed to notice it and attempted to rush through it. Those were the times when the screen stayed put and didn't rip like the one from the home improvement store. This is an excellent purchase.
This screen was purchased to replace one that had been damaged by my dog's nails on a Milgard screen door. I bought this 'extra strength' version because I thought the 'pet' version would be too thick. My purchase has made me extremely happy. It was simple to put together, has good visibility, and should be durable enough to withstand my dog's claws. (I made use of a. ) Instead of using the recommended 125" spline, I used a 125" spline. Spline of 140" diameter. ).
When I needed to make a custom screen for my skylight, this screen mesh and the DIY frame kit came in handy. There are no issues. Make sure you have the roller tool on hand to push the round rubber rod material into the groove.
Installing screens may be a little out of your comfort zone if you aren't particularly handy. However, with some practice and the right tools, you may be surprised at how simple it is to install. The second or third installation will pay for itself. You get a lot of bang for your buck.
I got this after one of our cats shredded our old screen outside in an attempt to chase lizards and birds, and I assumed the pet-proofing was done. The screen would be too dark and visible to be effective (which it is). This one, too, was quickly shredded by the cat. br>br>I'm torn between returning the screen and returning the cat.
