Questions & Answers

A spline groove of about 1/4 inch runs through my screen. I'm not sure what size spline I'll need. ?

It would be a quarter of an inch. 250 inches in length. I recommend removing a small piece and comparing it at your local hardware store. A quarter-inch measurement isn't accurate enough. I had a few screens that were "approximately" 1/8 inch thick (I think there were six). Despite the fact that they "looked" to be "about" the same, I discovered three different sizes in the mix.

Is it necessary to reduce the spline size in order to install a more durable aluminum screen?

Because I recently purchased this product, Amazon sent me your question: Check your screen for spline and replace it if necessary. You could use the old screen, but it's likely that it'll rip enemies out, won't last long, look bad in comparison to the new screen, or will do all of the above.

For a 5mm slot, what size spline do I need?

125"=. 32cm. This will work on screens in the United States.br>

A spline groove of about 1/8 inch runs through my screen. I'm not sure what size spline I'll need. ?

a quarter of an inch equals 0. 125 inch. Look for a spline with the same width as yours.

The walls are extremely thin! I've got a few more lengths of
3/5

Other vendors sell 175 spline, and the walls on this spline are much thinner than the rest (see photo - This is the middle spline). Because this spline collapses when squeezed between my fingers, rolling it into the screen frame channel is extremely difficult. With my fingers, I can actually break this spline, which is nearly impossible with any other. 175 spline is a type of spline that is used in the manufacturing.

Although the product is satisfactory, the description is misleading
3/5

The product itself is satisfactory, but I am dissatisfied with the inaccurate description of the spline as being 100' in bulk size. I received four 25' pieces in a package. br>br>The product description said;br>br>" when I bought it. Black Spline For Window Screens, 125x100' Stretching and fitting into screen frame channels is simple; For multiple windows and doors, we recommend a bulk size of 100'.

The screen is held in place by a sliver of a nail
3/5

You measure the width of the grooves in your aluminum frame and order the correct size, but the center hole on this product is so large that the spline does not apply enough pressure to the sides of the groove to keep the screen in place. When pressing the spline in, it's difficult to keep it in place - It has a tendency to appear out of nowhere. Look at the image - On the left, there's an old spline. this right-hand spline.

It's a lot smaller than
3/5

125" . Be aware. It is stated in the description. 125" x 100', but I'm afraid I won't be able to install it. It's impossible to hold the screen because it's too loose. I'm going to take a look at it and see what I can figure out. Only 115" is available (as shown in the photo).

I had some reservations based on other reviews, but the installation turned out to be excellent in the end
5/5

I was concerned about the material's sizing and quality because most comments stated that it is thinner than what came on the original windows, which is correct and can be seen in the image with the existing spline I removed, but it worked out well for me. It has a tough but flexible feel to it, and it was simple to apply and keep the screen in place. It arrived in a plastic bag and was a single solid piece to work with. If you have standard residential windows, this is a good option for a quick and simple replacement.

a large amount - There were a lot of screens that needed to be replaced or repaired
4/5

BEWARE - This wasn't big enough for my windows. I wish there was a quicker way to figure out which size you require. Is there a spline measuring tool out there somewhere? That would be fantastic. I placed a new order for the next larger size (. 140). That was because I also ordered a "screen kit" that included spline. 154" (I believe), but it was too large, so I believe this will suffice. This was replaced by me. With the, a 125" spline is possible. I used a 154" spline and it seemed to work (it was a little difficult to get it in, but it did tighten the screen as well - which is a good thing.

Installing it was a breeze
5/5

This is the first time I've had to replace a screen. I simply took a measurement of the channel 1/8 and converted it to decimal. If you need help, you can use online converters. Instead of purchasing the spline tool, I used a small handle flat head screwdriver and the edge of an adjustment wrench. Although it could have been easier, I was able to get it in without difficulty. Be careful not to bend the frame when pulling the screen tight. I made a mistake with the first one by leaving a gap, so I bent it back and double-checked it by laying each side of the completed screen on my workbench to ensure it wasn't bowed inwards. Spline is very stable!.

It was unnecessary for me
3/5

But it's nice to have on hand just in case. If I had needed it, I would have given it a five-star rating. But because I didn't, I gave it a three-star rating. I discovered that I could reuse the screen's existing spline. I just carefully pulled it out, taking care not to break it, and I could have just reused what I already had, but I'm keeping it just in case I need it again. I'm glad I have it because I wouldn't want to be stuck with an unfinished project if I didn't have it. The spline is required for mounting your screen to the frame, and you'll need one of those tools with the wheel to push it into the groove. Again, if I needed it, I'd give it a five-star rating because it's the exact same size as my current screen, making it a must-have item for your screen replacement needs.
