I'm not sure, but it would mostly depend on the strength of the metal you used.
It's not possible to simply screw the bolt in and walk away. You're supposed to use a special tool, but my husband came up with his own solution.
There is no actual torque setting, but because the insert is pre-torqued, it is usually done when setting the insert. When the insert is tightened, you'll notice an increase in turning pressure - indicating that the insert is secure.
No tool was sent to me. To set them, I used a larger nut and washer on top and a bolt that was screwed into the shank.

Although it appears to be a good heavy-duty anchor, the Astro pneumatic 1442 nut thread setting tool that comes with it does not work. The tool will not catch the anchor shank because it is too long. Fortunately, the Astro tool's kit included eight shorter anchors. However, I'm not sure what tool I'll need to operate these anchors right now. And this tool kit only cost me $70!.
A 4 gallon tank was secured to a 1/4" aluminum deck with this clamp. If you have access to the backside, thread a nut onto the bolt, thread the bolt through the rivet, drop it through the hole, and use the last nut on the bolt's end to lock the rivet in place so it doesn't spin. Hold the bolt in place while spinning the top nut to raise the bolt and set the rivet. Consider using an impact wrench and a well-lined bolt if you're installing blind. The impact force (which actually creates less torsional force) should keep the rivet from spinning, but keep an eye on the force.
I recommend that you make use of a good tool- It is possible that the do-it-yourself method will take a long time. The standard rivnut tools aren't going to cut it- The longer mandrel is required. If there was a drill attachment, that would be ideal. That is something I would like to use.
These appear to be of high quality. My tacklife rivnut setter's mandrel, on the other hand, is too long for them. As a result, it will take me about 5 minutes longer to set each one now.
When the standard rivet nuts failed, they did an excellent job. The large hinges were securely attached thanks to the expanding wings behind the fiberglass material on my trailer lid.
I like that I don't have to drill holes in the van.
Excellent work.
This stuff is incredible. A $6 DIY installation tool can be found on YouTube.
