Questions & Answers

A 9mm and a 3/8 bit have nearly the same diameter, as far as I'm aware. But, in terms of sizing, which is better?

9mm is a more snug fit, so it's probably preferable. Because 23/64" is smaller than 3/8" but larger than 9mm, I'm not sure why they recommend 3/8" as an equivalent. Use your 23/64" drill if you have one.

Is it possible to use these with 1/8" steel?

Yes, if you have a mandrel for crimping the nurserts with a 1/8 insert tool.

What tool is needed to complete the installation?

If you're not going to use anything smaller than a size 10, this is the place to be. Astro Pneumatic Tool 1442 is a number 24 in the Astro Pneumatic Tool series. If you're only going to do a couple, watch "DIY Rivnut HOW to use riveter bolt WITHOUT riveter tools" on YouTube.

Is a pack of 100 pieces considered a quantity?

One pack of 100 pieces was included in my shipment.

Selected User Reviews For Astro Pneumatic Tool RN14 100-Piece 1/4-20 Steel Rivet Nuts (Fivе Расk)

Many other inserts are of lower quality
5/5

These are ideal for the price and a variety of uses. The majority of people are unaware that these are designed for various sheet metal thicknesses rather than solid blind hole applications. They come in a variety of crush shoulder lengths for various thickness ranges, as well as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. There are a variety of them available for various uses. The second largest problem is that 90 of users have no real idea how to properly choose , install and use these inserts, either trying to overcompress them which strips th nut tools and mandrels, or attempting to use them for purposes other than those for which they were intended. I've used these for decades in pneumatic tools, manual tools, exotic materials, and extreme environment settings; you must select the appropriate insert for the material and job at hand. These are excellent general-purpose, general-torque steel inserts for most near-thin to medium-thickness through-hole applications at a very reasonable price.

Nuts all over the place! Someone made a mistake! I ordered 100 1/4" X 20 rivet nuts but only received 94 6mm rivet nuts and only six 1/4" X 20 rivet nuts, so I had to go through all 100 nuts and test fit them to a 1/4" X 20 bolt to find the six nuts I needed
3/5

It would be great if someone could fix this.

a 1/4-pound assortment 20 and 6 millimeters x 1 millimeter Astro Pneumatic Tool RN14 100-00 Riv Nuts is the subject of this review

a quarter- 20 Steel Rivet Nuts have been placed on order for the year 2021. 31 and was given the year 2021. I needed to replace two rusted and spun riv nuts that secure cleats to the bedside of my truck. br>br>I needed to replace two rusted and spun riv nuts that secure cleats to the bedside of my truck. br>br>I had to replace two rusted and spun riv nuts that secure cleats to the bedside of my truck. I had purchased two new ones locally, but applied too much pressure during installation, causing the alignment between the flange and the body to shift, causing my screws to go in crooked and not centered, so I turned to Amazon rather than spend 25 minutes driving back and forth to the local hardware store (LHS) the next day to pay 25 times the price. 6mm x 1mm x 1mm x 1mm x 1mm x 1mm x 1mm x 1mm x 1mm x 1mm x 1mm x 1mm x 1mm There were 26 00 rivet nuts mixed in with the 1/4-inch rivets. I required 20 pieces. Finally, this is a bonus for me because I may need metric ones in the future, and the 72 1/4-inch ones are still available. A total of 20 is sufficient. I understand that in a professional or manufacturing environment, a mix of threads would be a problem. br>br>However, it was aggravating when the first four I tried wouldn't thread onto my riv nut tool, leading me to believe that I had made a thread pitch error. My screws were 1/4-inch long, according to a thread gauge. 20; the package's label also said 1/4-pound. 20 so I dug deeper into the bag until I discovered a 1/4-inch thick piece of paper. I finished in 20 minutes and 3 minutes. br>br>Warning: Riv nut outside diameters appear to vary, as these have a smaller OD than the 1/4-inch riv nut. I bought 20 riv nuts from the LHS, which required me to use a stepped bit to slightly enlarge one of my existing holes. The Astro Pneumatic pieces have a diameter of 0. With a body length of 3485 inches and a 0. I replaced the old riv nuts with a 4855 inch flange, which is probably closer to the old riv nuts. Although it worked out, I wish I had done some homework before rushing off to the LHS.

For the time being, everything appears to be in order

I wanted to add a rail to the bed of my Ranger truck to provide additional strap mounting points. My first choice was the Unistrut channel-- It's cost-effective, adaptable, and there's a space beneath the top rail for it. These seemed like a good choice because it's only single thickness sheet metal and it can't be accessed from between the inner and outer walls. Drilled a bunch of holes (9mm) in the bed and used the Astro tool to install them. It appears to be solid once screwed in, but I may add a few more if I have the opportunity.

Work efficiently
5/5

These are very effective. They are straight when installed, the threads are smooth, and they stay in place even when subjected to significant loads. It doesn't get any better than that.

There will be no issues

Simply pay attention to the hole size; these work fine; don't drill the hole too big! The rivet nut will spin if you do so. I drill the tiniest hole possible for the rivet nut to fit through. The rivet nut should have knurling that bites into the parent material. If you're going to use a bolt and a spacer, make sure to put a small smear of grease or, better yet, anti-stick grease on the bolt and spacer. Use a bolt that is in good shape and threads in easily and smoothly during installation to prevent seizing on the threads.

Perfect for securing items to my van's ribs without having to drill
5/5

I'm 70 years old and had no trouble inserting nuts into pre-existing holes in my van with this tool. It was especially helpful that different sizes of nuts were included so that I could determine which size I needed.

So far, there hasn't been anything about them that I don't like
5/5

Time will tell, but they appear to be very tight and functioning properly, so I don't think I'll need to make any changes in the future.
