Questions & Answers
It should work fine as long as you use a good nut riveting tool.
Although you should use the tool, threaded rod or a bolt and nut will suffice.
Because these are metric, you'll just need to match the fastener to the appropriate metric bolt, and since they're stainless, I'm assuming you'll want to use the same material for the bolts as well. Of course, before you can use the fastener properly, you'll need a tool to install the rivets. I hope this has been of assistance.
If you're working with an aluminum panel, you should use an aluminum nut; if you're working with steel, you should use a steel nut. Corrosion occurs when metals of different compositions come into contact. It is dependent on the length of time you require it to last.

******UPDATE*****
After giving these a second chance, I have decided to update my review. I'll still *warn* you that this material is extremely soft and won't stand up to a lot of torque. I used these for a thumb screw application and wanted stainless steel because the item would be used both indoors and outdoors, so I used them for lower torque applications and was cautious during installation. I still wouldn't use this item in an automobile because the material's hardness is too low/soft. br> ******ORIGINAL REVIEW*****
The entire reason for this purchase was that I required something that was both weather resistant and durable. These were going to get a lot of use outside and possibly some rain/humidity, but I don't think they'll have any problems because they're stainless, just like they say. The main problem is the threading's durability. I noticed that a coating was beginning to form on the installation tool after only installing three of them. When I looked at the installed rivet nuts, I noticed that two of them had threading distortion. I tried running the M5 screw down by hand just to be sure, but it was binding up after only 4 to 5 turns. I tried running down with a screw driver and a T25 bit, but it started to lock up halfway down, so I backed out the screw. I'll admit that the threading distortion was most likely caused by me during installation when I applied too much torque to the nut setter tool; I underestimated how soft this metal would be. I was able to run the third rivet nut down the screw by hand before applying the set torque with the screw driver mentioned earlier. After that, I backed out the screw and discovered that even applying torque with a screw driver handle was too much. Even though I was able to run down by hand (fingers), I ended up having to use a 1/4" drive with a T25 bit to back screw out and discovered threads on screw filled with metal from the rivet nut (both made of SS). Because I only needed the M5 size, I'm not sure if the larger sizes would be any better; however, because they're made of the same material, I'm sure the same results would occur. I can't say this product is defective because it's possible I was just using it incorrectly. I just didn't expect the threading to be so easily damaged and the material to be so soft.
It performs exactly as it should. The material is stainless steel, Lucille, and it's minimally magnetic, which means it's not completely stainless; there's still some content in it, making it mildly magnetic. Product of high quality.
I used these to hold the side panels of a motorcycle together and they worked well. I don't own the tool, and I don't believe I require it. I use a bolt and a nut to compress them, and the results are satisfactory.
Excellent value for money! This is a great selection. I bought them for a specific application on my boat, and I'm sure they'll be useful in the future.
Making a captured nut or attaching panels has never been easier.
This is a fantastic product that I will use in my home and business. It is extremely simple to operate. Tim Stewart Illinois says, "The quality is amazing, especially for the price. ".
They were simple to use and far superior in quality to many other brands. Because of how many uses I have for them, I will be purchasing more in the future. Furthermore, the value for money is excellent.
