Questions & Answers

Is it possible that the black paint will wear off with time?

I have the other type of Gorilla lug nuts (the ones with the short grooves on the key) and they haven't lost any paint despite being removed with an impact on the key. Even in the grooves where the key makes contact, they should stay black for a long time if Gorilla maintains its high standard; one set I have has been in use since 1997. Since 2006, Gorilla has been in the other vehicle.

Is the spacing of the spline grooves uniform or do they have a distinct pattern?

They're all arranged in a symmetrical pattern.

Is the toolincluded in the package?

The key is included in the package.

These don't fit my 2012 Kia Sorento according to Amazon, but they do according to the fitment guide. I was just checking to see if they'd fit. ?

If the stud size on your hub assembly is 12x1, you're good to go. I have a 2014 Mazda3 and that is my size as well, but Amazon is claiming that it does not fit? Strange, must be a bug on the website? It happens now and then because they are unable to keep up with all of their product information.

In my order, there were at least four cracked lug nuts
3/5

Because of the positive reviews, I chose these lug nuts over cheaper alternatives that looked very similar. When I went to put them in, I noticed four cracked nuts. At that point, I removed them and replaced them with the originals. I didn't have time to look through the others, but I'm concerned about the quality of the ones I got.

Great small diameter spline drive lugs for the smallest lug holes, such as the XXR, where even Muteki "tuner" hex lugs would not fit! These are the smallest diameter lug nuts I could find, with a key diameter of about 22mm, as opposed to Muteki's "tuner hex lug nuts," which were narrow but had a key diameter of about 25mm, which wouldn't fit in XXR rims with a 24
5/5

Opening is 3mm. It's not the diameter of the lug nuts that matters. The diameter of the key is important because, while almost any "tuner" lug nut will fit in any rim, the key required to tighten them may not fit in small openings like those found on XXR rims. They did fit my Vossen rims, and while I didn't measure the exact lug hole size, I'd guess it was around 26mm-27mm. Based on a 1mm-thickness, the diameter is 27mm. The Muteki key was 1mm too wide to fit in the XXR lug holes, so I had 2mm extra space around it. These lug nuts appear to be just as good as Muteki lug nuts, but with a smaller diameter. To avoid scratching the inside of the lug holes, wrap the spline drive key in teflon tape or other tape. Also, keep an eye out for the key to bottom out where the hex collar shoulder meets the rim. The tire shop where I had my tires installed didn't pay attention, and the sharp hex collar/shoulder of the key chipped my XXR rims in three places, which would not have happened if they had just kept it 1/8" away from the rim.

The finish is faulty; it is sticky, and there is no way to polish or seal it
3/5

Returned. The finish on these had a flaw in it. I was replacing a chrome-finish product and wanted to see how it would look in black. A single plastic bag contains all of these items. Although they appeared to be in good condition, when I opened them, I discovered that they were all coated in a sticky substance. I was convinced they sprayed them with light oil, so I washed a few of them in a small container with Mequiars Gold Class car wash, then attempted to wax the "Black Chrome. " Not very good. The finish had faded to a dull sheen, but there was still something on them. It's possible that they were improperly painted or electroplated. All I know is that the black chrome hardware on other items I own, including an 8-piece drumset, does not look or feel like this. It's impossible to polish, clean, wax compound, or seal this surface because it's so difficult. They were returned the next day, and the traditional chrome ones I replaced them with are perfect: no issues, super durable, and shine up just like new. I'm still stumped as to why these were so bad.

really? smh. This was a no-brainer for me because my Volvo had gorilla lugs. Forget about the other brands that are now equipped with the same technology. This was a perfect fit for my Fiesta ST and looks fantastic with the gleaming black wheels. I suppose I should have photographed the before and after. sorry. br>br>I wish I could have saved money and purchased a 16-piece set, but that would have required more work from the manufacturer. I now have four extras on hand in case anything goes wrong. I'm not sure what this is for, but it's just in case.

Fits perfectly and has a nice appearance
5/5

These were purchased to replace the stock lugs on my Acura that had been on the vehicle for far too long and were in need of replacement. These lug nuts have a great fit. Instead of the silver/chrome look of the standard lug nuts I had, they looked much better because they were black. These have a decent finish. After a few times of taking them off and putting them back on, they appear to be scratching. The key also scratches easily; I'm not sure if the finish is rust resistant, but only time will tell. The lugs and key appear to be in good shape; the key appears to be strong enough to do the job, and the lug nuts don't feel any better or worse than the ones I had before. Overall, if you're looking for a more budget-friendly option, I'd suggest these. profile look, but don't want to spend a fortune on nicer lug nuts for a nicer set of wheels.

The appearance of all lugs is identical
5/5

There are no unsightly key lugs to draw attention to themselves. They came in a bag with an adapter piece and fit exactly like my old lug nuts. I was worried they'd be scratched, but they're coated in a thin layer of grease. My vehicle received aftermarket rims, and the only way to remove the old lug nuts was to use an impact wrench. Because of the adapter that comes with these lugs, I am able to use a standard tire iron. They'll work with 3/4" and 13/16" holes. I will have no problem allowing these lugs to be visible if my little cap that covers the lugs and wheel hub falls off, cracks, or is damaged. I haven't put them on yet, so I can't comment on their durability.

12mm x 1. 50br>br>When I ordered the black set, it arrived on time. The packaging was a little disappointing to me, but other reviews stated that they came in a plastic bag. A thin plastic sleeve was wrapped around each lug nut. The lug nuts were in excellent condition, despite the fact that the plastic bags had been battered by shipping and handling. When I compared these lug nuts to my previous acorn set, I was astounded at how small they are. br>br>I didn't get any paperwork or a lug nut key number in case I misplaced the one that was given to me. After doing some research online, I decided to take a chance and order this (Gorilla Automotive 1921SD-1). KEY (Lug Nut Key with a Small Diameter) I double-checked that the key was the right one when it arrived. They are currently available on Amazon as of this writing. If you decide to keep the set, I recommend ordering a spare key. br>br>The black coating appears to be durable, but it was only installed with the key. On a few of them, I managed to scratch the paint. To avoid scratching the coating, I recommend taking your time when inserting the key into the lug nut. br>Overall, they are performing admirably, and I chose this product to deter thieves. This ought to suffice.

Take a look at my silver rims
5/5

After a few power tool removals, the paint appears to be holding up well. The only complaint is that one became stuck in the socket, and while attempting to remove it from the inlet side, it drilled a hole through the top center. Because I used locks on each wheel, it's a good thing I had another. However, given the price, I would buy it again.
