On my 97 Chevy Blazer, one of the U nuts had broken. NUT, FRT S/ABS(M8X1) NUT, FRT S/ABS(M8X1) NUT, FRT S/ 25,11. 1)(U- Part 15658213 of the National Uniform Technical Standards (NUT). Will this suffice as a substitute?

While this part might fit (double-check the dimensions and thread specs), I have no idea how strong it is, so I wouldn't recommend it for a high-stress application like a shock mount. Unless there's a way to check the strength. This item was used to mount a battery tray in my vehicle. a situation with little or no stress!

U-shaped tube of excellent quality nut; It appears to be a thicker gauge steel than the old one. If you ever need to bolt something to sheet metal, this is a good solution.
