On the Schlage website, there was no model number. Reviews and comments were split as to what the Schlage product would be and what the reviews were about. In my case, I required the replacement of a broken latch and this dead latch will work just as well since I have the necessary hardware to adapt a dead latch to a latch plate. As a result of purchasing this part, I was able to repair my door handle/lock more quickly and for less money than it would have cost to replace the entire lock, A description of the product cannot be complete without images of the product. The OEM replacement part broke off the garage entry door knob while I was parking my car. I am unable to close the - The problem was the extra finger on the deadlatch was worn out. The literal sense. It turns out we use that door more regularly A five-year effort to fail finally fails. As part of this replacement part, Schlage/Allegion (parent company) has included full markings and documentation. Based on other reviewers' observations and the photograph, it appears that this was made by Schlage, not a third party. I received the replacement part much more quickly than the Schlage part. There was only one small negative the cover plate and screws came only in bright brass, so I had to re-use them in antique bronze. Taking off the cover plate should be done carefully - There is a bit of a learning curve and the underplate can bend. Thanks to Amazon for finding this.
It says I have a lifetime warranty on my Schlage doorknob. It was easy to contact them regarding replacement of a defective latch mechanism, but they estimated I would need to pay $7 to replace it It is expected to arrive in 10 days. For such a long time the doorknob was gone and I could not do without it, so I went to this store and got a replacement. Since the part was so inexpensive, I bought it. It was delivered in one day and I was able to have it installed the very next day. I was able to install it quickly and replace it with no problems. plan to keep the warranty supplied part as a backup when it arrives.
As a result, this problem is resolved. recently stopped being able to shut the door properly due to a schlage battery powered code door lock. After doing some research, I found that the internal locking mechanism gets inefficient over time. In this case, it took Since I was able to repair my door lock instead of buying a new one, I was so happy to buy it instead of purchasing a new one. Works perfectly and does not require much effort. As I understand, a precision mechanism like a door lock can break over time, although 15 years is a pretty good span. What you need to do is fix this.
Some things in my house are starting to wear out since it's nearly 20 years old. It is the second time in the last year that the exterior door latch assembly has failed. There is no difference in the symptoms between the two types. As a result, the latch does not retract or bind in the track anymore since the slider in the latch no longer rotates smoothly. There is only one wearable part on the door which means that the knobs do not need to be replaced. As a result of only buying the latch mechanism, I have saved substantial amounts of money, and I no longer need to worry about switching my door keys.
I had to make the decision to purchase the replacement because of that. It would have been easier for me to switch to Kwikset if all my locks were not schlage. The last time I bought Schlage locks was ten years ago, and I urge you to avoid buying them as well.
I saved myself from a time consuming and tedious process. Having moved some tumblers around from other Schlage locks, my front door has a lever handle lock and deadbolt that I used on other Schlage locks to complement my lever handle lock. In other words, the two locks at the front door could be two of the same type, and also have the same key as the garage door leading into the house. By purchasing this part, I don't need to buy a whole lock and replace all of It's five times cheaper to buy one lock rather than a piece of hardware. Simply take out the two screws that hold your lock knobs on and remove them. Comparing what you see in the door hole to the picture of this part on your computer screen will help you to understand the part better. You will need to replace either your existing part or the original part if your existing part is broken. Once you remove the two screws on the edge of your door, you will need to use pliers to squeeze the bent wings together (you may need to pull out some loose pieces first) and you will be able to pull the bad part out. It is now time for the new part and existing lock knobs to be installed.
The product looks fine but it is in fact a deadlock as described in the description. However, the photo appears to show a spring latch. Amazon told me the item was not returnable, but I need a spring latch. When I called, fortunately they did process a refund for me. You might want to do an internet search if you are not sure what the difference between a deadlatch and a springlatch is.
