Since this strike had no screw holes (it covered up the previous ones) I didn't pay attention to it.
Almost as wide as standard strike plates, it measures two inches from edge to edge. I have found them to be great for under my house, which is prone to shifting with changes in the weather
The cap measures 2 3/4" in height and 3/4" in width. I hope this helps. Satin nickel was the color of the finish that I received.
You can hire them anywhere you think they are needed. installing one at the side of my shed. I initially thought these were stainless, but if they're plated, they may eventually rust. Since they are quite heavy, rust will only affect the aesthetics.

One of my problems was that a door with a metal part no longer lined up with the hole in the door frame - so the door no longer latches. A half-inch was too high, so it struck. The strike plate advertises that in order to expand the hole, you don't have to engage the chisel at all -- but I was skeptic This is all the more remarkable since the previous strike plate is also incorporated into the frame. Even so, there was no need for drilling additional holes after drilling these two new holes and quickly replacing the door latch, my problem was solved. It is true that I will have to follow up in the winter, but for now, I have nothing to complain about.
Perfect! We were looking for this! As a result of a change in weather, the water pipe in our house shifts every time we get rain, so one minute the pipe shuts, the next it doesn't. There is no question that this little gem keeps the door shut no matter what the house does! I found this to be a great Be sure to place your order with Wraith & Co. The item that Jeffcoproducts LLC sent to us was the wrong one, because Jeffcoproducts LLC sent the incorrect item to several other people (see their feedback). Great product! I highly recommend it!.
There is no doubt this device can change the game for good. it was easy to install I installed it one afternoon while my husband was at work in just five minutes.
We used these strike plates to replace the majority of strike plates in our pier-and-beam * For much of the year, our doors don't latch properly because the house settles at different times. Those work great in place of the standard strike plates. Re-cut the door frames so that the holes were taller and the strike plates now work perfectly! Despite their thinness and robustness, they are very sturdy and thick. The doorknobs that come with standard plates don't even come close to the quality of these. It would have been nice if I could have gotten them in matte black to match! Even though the colors mismatch, it was worth it to be able to latch the doors with no effort and no effort at all.
There is a lot of history in my house. Most of the original items are like those from the 1930s. My bathroom door strike is bent and becoming a tripping hazard due to its catching properties. I'm scared of getting stuck in there. As a result of pulling it off, my door no longer stayed shut. I found the old strike too small because the door frame had been drilled into over the years, etc. The door also needed a wider opening than usual due to an old metal slide bar lock. As a result, this was perfect for this purpose, and it is durable/made.
Hardware stores are not carrying these in most areas, which I do not understand. It is very helpful in the event that frames become cracked, and works for just about any purpose. Although I hope I do not need to buy again (since I don't need to replace the items in the house), I would feel confident to purchase once again if the need arises. We were able to use both of these I needed two screws, one to fix a cracked frame to be screwing beyond the crack, and the other to latch the door on a back porch whose door shifts with the humidity, so I needed a wide enough area so that it could latch. It worked well for both purposes.
It took me a few minutes to remove the existing plate, draw the lines around the new larger one, chisel out the area, and then screw the new one In my opinion, three of them took no longer than an hour to install. They do a great job! Improvements have been made immediately.
It solved the problem of my door not being able to close due to seasonal shifting, swelling, etc. I also recommended it to my youngest brother (in another state who was experiencing the same problem) and it fixed his problem as well (one downside, it comes in only one color/finish).
