Yeah, I agree. This is a very simple process. A small screwdriver can then be inserted into the hole on the shaft so that the lever can be pulled out. If you want to reverse the process, do it.

They are designed for outdoor use, and after just a couple of months (in the winter) they have not failed us. We used clear silicone to create a bead of sealant at the top and sides of the unit. As a result, moisture won't be able to enter the unit during heavy rain, but residual moisture will be able to evaporate. Although I am sure it isn't something mecessay, I feel better about it now.
This is my third purchase, and I installed them all at the same time. The design is beautiful and sturdy in construction.
