I have a few on exterior doors, and the finish is fine, but the interiors aren't great. I've had issues with the internal parts on two of the three that we've purchased, and schlage has yet to respond to my emails. So much for the guarantee of a lifetime.
Yes, this can be used on a front door. As long as you don't mind not having a lock built into the lever/handle. instead of relying on a different locking mechanism ie: deadbolt.
Both parties - Because the lever is straight out, it can be turned "backwards" and still look the same. These are lovely; mine is my favorite.
The rosette is about 2 3/4 inches in diameter.

They aren't worth buying. The hndles do not appear to stay tight when hung as they do in the picture. They won't stay for long and may not bother everyone, but it irritates me greatly. I get worked up every time I look at our white two-panel doors and see them sagging down. I've tried numerous times to straighten the inner plate, but every time you open a door, they sag again, not to mention the amount of slop in the actual lever. I can wiggle the post part of the handle up and down a lot more than I expected. This isn't the first house we've installed Schlage in, but it's probably the best. Last time, I expected a much better product for the money I paid; I tried selling them on eBay to fund new hardware, but I wasn't ready to lose that much money just yet. I'll also include photos and video of the shoddy, poorly constructed products. I saw other reviews with the same issue with the sag and assumed it was due to poor installation or lack of knowledge, but they don't stay straight no matter what you do. Maybe if there were four screws instead of two, but the two aren't holding it together.
It irritates me that opening the door necessitates a complete 180-degree turn. To open the door, the handle must be in a vertical position. Other manufacturers use a 45-degree turn to open their doors.
These appear to be very appealing - To open the door, however, you must turn the handle all the way down or up. It's a real pain. Everyone likes how they look before they open the door once or twice, but NO ONE likes them after that.
These are lovely and well-made. made doorknobs that blend in with our modern decor They were simple to install for my husband - When he was learning how to do it, it only took him about 10 minutes to complete the first one. It's worth noting that the Dummy lever only works on one side of the door. Order two dummy levers (handles) if your doors are similar to ours and require one on both sides. Regular door knobs, of course, have handles on both sides. This purchase has made us very happy.
This was purchased to serve as a temporary (as in several years) front door handle for our new (to us, but actually old) home. I'm not concerned about the weather getting to the front door because it is completely covered. We intend to upgrade our door in the future, but we don't know what type of door we'll get yet, so I didn't want to spend more money on a "fancy" front door handle if I didn't know if it would be compatible with our next door. I couldn't stand the round brass handle any longer (see before and after photos). We had already replaced all of the locks when we moved in, so this doorknob was a perfect match for our new schlage keyless entry deadbolt. It was also very simple to install; I did it myself in a matter of minutes. If you're new to switching handles, it also comes with detailed instructions. The hardware updates, as well as a fresh coat of paint on the front door, have made a huge difference, and now that it's been refreshed, we'll be much happier living with it for a while longer. When you open the heavier metal door, this handle sits nicely level and feels good in your hand. We've had no problems with it, and the end result is even better than I had hoped for. We got it in matte black, which I was worried would show fingerprints/smudges, but it's stayed looking very nice and clean, and I haven't noticed any marks on it any sooner than I would on a "normal" color door handle. br>br>Overall, it looks great, feels great, and works great, and we'd recommend this lever to anyone! We intend to purchase more for our home as we update and replace the interior doors (all of which currently have the same round brass doorknob). It's a great way to give an old door a new look without spending a lot of money.
These look great, but the matte finish will show oil and grease from your hands. The biggest disadvantage is that the beauty ring at their base is held in place by a couple dimples in its edge, which can be unsightly and detract from the appearance of quality, making it appear cheap. br>br>Since the dimples can't be rotated to be on the bottom of the ring, there's nothing you can do to hide them. Something that appears to have been overlooked by the manufacturer during the design process.
I purchased 40 of these for our newly constructed home because they looked great when they were installed. We had to go back and tighten them up again after only a week. Approximately 10 of the original 40 have become loose on a regular basis. Another five have their handles fall off all the time. They appear to be well-made, but they are not. The internal mechanisms are low-cost. I can't even imagine the issues we'll face in 5, 10, or 20 years.
In less than 15 minutes, I was able to replace an old bathroom door lock. It seemed to come naturally. I kept the old latch holder because it was far superior to the one that came with this. The lock and handle mechanism, on the other hand, are of excellent quality. br>br>I included pictures because, in general, I am all thumbs when it comes to installing anything because of my cerebral palsy, but in this rare instance, I did an excellent job. In addition, I bought three of these bathroom door locks and they all went together quickly. My bathroom has two doors, one for the toilet and one for the tub. Only a single door separates the second bathroom from the first. These locks went on without a hitch and were easy to install. br>br>I give these locks a five-star rating, which is the highest I've ever given.
