The striker plates that came with the levers were not only too tall but also too narrow for the original opening, so we had to go online and spend another $70 to find the right style that would fit all of our doors. If there hadn't been so much "modification" and additional cost to complete the job, it would undoubtedly have received five stars.

They have a solid, expensive, and high-quality feel to them. They're also a lovely contemporary upgrade. I am a 23-year-old first-time stay-at-home mom who completed the installation in under an hour. The only issue is that the part that catches the latch on the door frame is a different size and shape than what was previously present and thus does not fit. To get the correct ones, I'll have to go to the hardware store. It's not a big deal for me because the hardware store is only 4 minutes away, and I really like these door knobs!.

I ordered two of the ten-packs, with 18 doors in need of knobs and one dutch door requiring two. I did get one Schlage doorknob for an exterior door with a real lock, which was a lot easier to put in. Because these knobs don't come with standard strike plates, they'll need to be modified to fit most doors. My dutch door was the only one that didn't need to be modified, which was completely unexpected. A small wood chisel and a hammer are required as additional tools. I still have one, but the other 19 worked flawlessly right out of the box, and they've been in use for several weeks with no problems.

The only reason I gave it a 4 was because one of the plates was scratched when we received it, and one of the handles was difficult to install. It had to be coaxed into perfectly latching. The other two in the set, on the other hand, were absolutely flawless.

They're solid and don't have any jankiness to them. The backplate edges are a little sharp, if that's an issue. It hasn't been a problem for us, but I've read a few reviews about it and it appears to be true. The lever isn't too sharp; it's fine. br>br>By the way, everyone who visits the house now compliments the door hardware. It is extremely popular among them.

The price is reasonable. China is where it's made. Hand drilling appears to be used on the strike plates. The handle mechanism itself is very sturdy. A good paint finish. I used bolts from one of the handles I removed because one of mine was missing hardware. The recessed strike plate base on the door frame, as well as the door itself, will need to be enlarged. The larger strike plates were fixed with a chisel and a hammer. I'll have to go over everything again. Fill in the areas that I enlarged with paint.

You might or might not be able to use these handles. I was replacing round door handles, which were difficult to install while also ensuring that the existing hole (round) was completely covered. Also, because the previous latches were a different size/shape, the door latches didn't work for me. They did, however, look fantastic when completed. br>Now I have to get to work on the hinges.
