Questions & Answers
One drawer slide costs $89 in total. There are two pieces in each drawer slide.
It is not designed for metal tracks, so it comes with the track and slide.
You can pull all the way to the end and the drawer will not fall out, but if you keep pulling, it will. Although there is no stopper at the end of the glide, the draw has never fallen out!
You can place holes where you want them by marking and predrilling them.

I needed a new drawer slide for my dresser because the one that was broken was completely useless. I was very careful to make sure I was ordering the correct length, and this was the best I could do - It was about 3/4" too long, but that was no problem because I just cut it down with my miter saw. The issue is that it's a quarter of an inch thicker (taller?). ) than the one I was taking the place of. I kept it because I didn't realize it until after I'd cut it, so I couldn't return it, but it's so thick that the drawer won't close completely. So, if you're going to use this as a replacement, pay attention to the thickness to make sure it'll work.
For an old oak dresser, this is a simple replacement. I ordered them in a larger size and cut them to length using the original pieces as a guide. The pieces on the bottoms of the drawers were glued together with wood glue. Works and slides are in perfect condition!.
I'm very happy with the product; it was exactly the right size for an old dresser, and I didn't have to make any adjustments or cuts. I drilled my holes after aligning the old and new slides. I've included a before and after photo, as well as a picture of the existing metal part that it slides into. It was a perfect fit for that rail. br>It was less expensive than the big-box hardware stores, though. I can't comment on the durability just yet, but if that changes, I'll let you know. Overall, I would buy it again if one of the other sides were to break.
I found a used dresser on Craig's List that needed to be refinished, but three of the drawer mounts were broken. These did a fantastic job of repairing the drawers! The dresser looks great after a fresh coat of paint and a shine to the hardware! (And I'm useless when it comes to tools!) I took out the old mounts, screwed in the new ones in the dresser, lined up the top part with the drawer in place, and used my husband's drill to screw from the inside of the drawer down into the top part. )br>br>It's difficult to slide the pieces around. Make certain to use a candle to rub both pieces. The wax will lubricate the surface and make gliding more comfortable.
A broken wooden drawer slide in a dresser belonged to my family. This was the most cost-effective way to replace it. A few things we learned during installation: the drawer slides were not identical, but that is hardly the product's fault.
- If you don't want to split it right away, drill in the valley rather than the raised parts for the "female" part.
- Make sure your holes are ready to go before you start drilling. After you've drilled them, take a 3/8" drill bit and drill a 1-inch hole in the center. Each hole is separated by a 2mm gap. This will allow your screw head to nest, preventing it from sticking out and obstructing movement.
- If this slide set is shallower than the one you're replacing, a strip (or more) of heavy-duty corrugated cardboard placed between the slide and the furniture is a simple and inexpensive way to raise it.
- When you're finished, rub wax over the guide to aid the drawer's movement. br>br>In any case, I'm glad to have a drawer that slides in and out rather than falling out after a while. If we come across any more broken drawer slides, we'll most likely pick up more of these.
This worked because I replaced the entire strip, but the shape isn't the same as shown. I bought it because of the length (which was perfect), but also because I only needed one piece of the set to match what I already had. Because it wasn't the same shape as the one pictured, I had to replace the entire thing because the part didn't fit. Aside from that, it functions well and is of high quality.
I'm not sure if my husband screwed them in incorrectly, but almost every one of them split in half. They also require the side items to lift them to a level position; otherwise, they will rock back and forth. These are more expensive than the dresser I found at a thrift store. I'll never buy another dresser with broken or broken drawers. What an EXTREMELY STRESSFUL EXPERIENCE! Nothing at Lowe's or Home Depot would fit this dresser because of its unusual dimensions. As a result, ordering via the internet has become a popular option.
However, it is not excellent. The fit of the two pieces is sloppy and poor, which is a good product. But . They do the job and are a good value for the money. br>br>Almost forgot to mention that if you're replacing an existing piece, you may need to plane both the female and male pieces, as these are metric. I had two old slides that were made with SAE units of measurement and were slightly thinner than this unit. As a result, when I made my drawers, I had to plane this slide to ensure that all of the slides were the same size.
