Slides are shorter than the cabinet's full depth and attach to the cabinet's sides and drawer. 20" is my recommendation, but 22" would suffice.

If you're attempting to renovate old cabinets, these may not be worth the trouble. If your cabinets are even slightly out of square, they will not function properly. A job that should have taken me an hour took me the better part of the day, and the drawers are still not closing as smoothly as they should. I've done a lot of remodeling, so I'm used to putting drawers in. I'm going to stick with basic roller drawer runners in the future. They are, on the other hand, substantial and appear to be well-made. If your cabinets are newer, these should work fine. I'd try these again if I were putting in new cabinets.
If your cabinet isn't perfectly square, as I mentioned, these are a pain to install. When it comes to installation, there is almost no room for error. I've spent an average of 8 hours on each pair of slides to get them to work properly. The slides' cabinet is in need of repair. adjustability in the downward direction.
