Questions & Answers

In order not to sand the stain off soft wood, would drilling small holes in the wood and "injecting" the product directly into the holes achieve the desired results?

I had rotten windowsills in a very old shed, and I drilled holes in the rotten wood to hold it in place. Several years have passed since this happened. According to what I remember, it instructed you to drill holes in the decayed spots of the wood to allow deeper penetration. would say that the wood became more like rock as it

Would it be good to harden and waterproof the new/undamaged wood, then stain it afterward? I'm replacing slats on an old bench with new pine. Does this sound like a good idea?

There is no way for new wood to absorb it It is made for old wood that is spongy. The preservation of a collection has to be carried out by a different product than the restoration of it. BTW, I was not thrilled with it either for old wood.

Is it possible to use this on particle board or mdf that has begun to separate and expand Could the bottom of an arcade cabinet serve as an example?

You can use this to stop rot and to hold together wood that has rotted. As long as the expansion continues, it will not stop. With the aid of yellow carpenters glue (waterproof) and clamps, you can force expansion and separation in the cabinet back to a proper shape. it on wood that had water damage and termites, and the restorer hardened the wood, as well as using it on

Would it be possible to use something else to waterproof or seal the wood if I used this product to harden the ?

In the case of several window sills, I did paint over them after repairing them instead of waterproofing them. Upon contact with the PC, the paint adheres Since I haven't painted in almost a year, I don't recall myself applying Petrifier, but I don't see why you couldn't do this with something else.

A great item for repair of dry rot The cost of replacement was saved
5/5

Dry rot damage to all types of fascias can be repaired with this product. The house is an older one without any modern amenities Replaceable trim cuts are standard which means they are expensive. The rotted areas can be trimmed, scraped, and wire brushed until good wood is discovered. The liquid should be applied to the surfaces according to If you are working on a vertical surface, the bottle cap nozzle can be a little drippy. Use a disposable chip brush to apply the polish and paint it on liberally until the wood is thoroughly Next day, the wood would be rock hard. Screwed in scrap wood blocks and used PC Woody Two-HTM for the glue. A part of Wood Repair Epoxy Paste must be used to fill in any gaps. Fill in the surface defects a little bit more than necessary. You need to sand it level, prime and paint it the following day. That's all there is to it.

You can harden your wood by doing this
5/5

In the window sills of the outside of my house, I had a little soft wood and a bit of rot. After layering some of this liquid on, the foundation looked nice and solid a few days later. Though I do not know how it does what it does, I enjoyed As if by magic, it hardened my soft wood. Consequently, I did not have to replace my window sills and I was able to paint my home without worrying about moisture entering beneath the paint.

I used this to harden a rotted log end that I had
5/5

I used this product on a rotted log end in my cabin to harden it. An approximatively large log file ended up in my inbox. A 36" x 14" print. Before I began, I first cleaned out all of the really bad wood in the log, soaked the area with this wood hardener and fixed it up the way I wanted. I used something called P after it had been set up for one day. A two-part resin and a two-part coating is used in the Rot Terminator 1926 The hardener is mixed into a paste like consistency and then sawdust is applied in 2 applications After letting the 3" layers dry overnight in temperature conditions of 50 degrees, I shaved it off. I was surprised by how well it worked & As it turned out, this was the perfect solution. As well, I lag bolted a steel plate I had cut into a circle and coated with butter into the log end to keep it from overflowing, and I took it off after it was cured, which took 2 days to do. It's a great combination of.

This product does what it says
5/5

The wood hardens nicely when it's rotting. Exposure to direct sunlight may not be able to be tolerated. During the holiday season, I purchased PC Products PC-42 Water that is a petrifier The use of an organic wood hardener to restore heavily weathered 20 year-old wood A playground with old roof boards made of redwood. I found that the petrifier did in fact have a viscosity similar to water and was absorbed into the weathered wood quite well. Using the instructions, I applied two coats, which left a slightly shiny finish on the wood. After a few weeks of exposure to the summer sun, I did notice some minor surface deterioration of the cured product. Although the product’s direct sunlight is not specified, I did notice some minor UV damage to the cured product. On top of the cured petrifier, I then applied a translucent oil based wood toner protected by UV. Almost a month has passed since my surgery, and everything appears to be fine. It will be a matter of time before I can determine whether my restoration approach is successful.

I love how well this works! I'm in love with this stuff! As well as some termite damage, we had rotting wood on our balcony railing and plansks with damaged paint (our own fault for not keeping up with the peeling paint)
5/5

The stuff and instructional videos that you have posted on youtube are great. We went for it and put it in the tube. I had nothing to lose, so why not? It will be beneficial to try and flake off as much loose material as possible. You will not have any difficulty absorbing this stuff. As I watched the video, drilling a few holes at an angle and letting the liquid soak through the holes was recommended for vertical surfaces. As soon as it enters the hole, it will spread all around. In any case, I let it harden until the next day and it was as hard as stone. Quite impressive, I must say! Following that, it was followed by a two part PC Woody Epoxy to fill in the gaps. Now, it is ready for painting! The stuff you post here is awesome!.

Damaged wood needs to be replaced
5/5

White Elmer's Glue diluted in water looks just like this. You shouldn't have too much trouble brushing this on, as it has a very thin consistency that makes it easy to apply. The squirt bottle may apply more than you expect, so place a little in a cup and apply it with a small I find it dries pretty quickly and turns to a fairly dull clear finish. I like how well it soaks in. Basically, it takes softened or brittle wood, such as wood that has been damaged by water, fungus or insects, and makes it hard as if it had been soaked in epoxy. There are no miracles here, but it's a good solution To fill a hole with crumbled wood, dig out the soft bits, apply this to what is left, and then fill in the hole with wood putty. There is a good wood putty by the same company, but purchasing the products separately is often cheaper than purchasing the It does not seem necessary to use two applications in most cases. If you're careful, you can get quite a lot of use out of the bottle and it's not that expensive. You definitely could, but you'd want to experiment a little before using it to preserve pinecones. Many people want to know if they can use it to preserve pinecones, or so on. Imagine how the paint would look if you painted it slightly on a cork, for example. You'd end up with a hard-to-break cork that was slightly shiny The outer eighth of wood It is one inch thick. You might find that the cork expands if you soak it in it, but it would end up hard as.

Love it for RVs, it keeps your floor from collapsing if it gets wet and rots instead of collapsing
5/5

As I have recently used this product to stabilize and strengthen rotting wood, it has not failed me. There are a lot of us- We, as RV'ers with many years of experience, know that despite what manufacturers may claim, the wood underlayment on even the most expensive motorhomes is not oriented strand board, but pressed wood instead. It doesn't matter how well these motorhomes and RVs are built, situations can occur that cause water to seep into the subfloor, and if not caught and dried immediately, the wood will rot and become spongy, and the floor will eventually cave in. When I first began using this product, there was a very large portion of the flooring along an exterior wall of an old motorhome that was so rotted. In the second instance, I was able to push my finger through the flooring to the outside. In a newer motorhome, this was not possible. We had our second bathroom's toilet removed to lay tile. When they replaced the toilet, they didn't do it properly and the subflooring became so waterlogged that it rotted. We noticed that water was flowing through the floor into one of our bays when the problem was discovered. By hardening the rotted floors from the bottom up, this product soaks into the wood and penetrates deep into them. In our initial test, we tried another product. It worked, but not nearly as well as the PC-based product An animal tranquilizer. In summary, if you have rotting window sill or door frames, or subflooring, as in our case, this is without a doubt the best product available. In addition, it is much more affordable than the other products we used when we couldn't find the PC There is a petrifier in a local shop.
