Questions & Answers
The market offers a wide range of stainable wood fillers that I have used. It was a busy year for me as I refinished a lot of furniture and antiques. It's not a known fact that any of the brand names of fillers are 100% accurate, there are some relatively dark stained fillers where I find no brand to be 100% accurate. Famowood holds stains the best, and I use that as my sole brand. To date, I have used every color available, and it's even easier to work with than I expected. This is a tip I highly recommend, based on my trial and error experience. Start with a small patch to test it, 1/4-inch square If the color of the filler staining looks lighter than the non-filled area, then just stain a small area over and next to the patch test (it can be removed later) if the color of the filler stains slightly lighter than the non-filled area This fills in the gaps. Ensure you save any used filler in an airtight container so as not to waste any. Measure out the amount needed for the project and pour it directly into the container. Next, take the stain you will be using and mix it with the colored or non-colored Famowood filler before spreading it on You will be able to use it to create a color that is more accurate to your stain of choice. Stains can be used quite a bit in mixing filler, but they should not be used so much that your mix becomes runny. If I add stain to filler, the dried product has the same hard, sandable consistency. Thanks for reading, I hope this helped
Wood flooring is indeed a good option. The laminate appears to be made of wood. As compared to the fillers I have used in the past, this is the best one. (I've tried a lot of them) Satinable fillers usually have a tendency to be a shade lighter than what you're looking for. In the case where you stain the filler after it dries, as long as the stain matches the existing color, I do recommend adding it to the filler before applying it to the Bringing color up to a more uniform match is one of the benefits. Let me know if this helps.
Please accept my apology. I don't exactly know what color the knotty yellow pine is, by the way, I finished the filler as well.
The lid needs to be tight to prevent bacteria from growing inside. I've used this for a long time, but it often gets dry that way. There is no need to add water to loosen the dust - that should do the trick, but over time some mold may form. Your project is a great start! Best of luck!

There are no products that I buy because they are foolproof. It was the positive reviews that motivated me to buy FamoWood. I am glad that I purchased a difficult-to-use product that was also more effective. For my 70 year old refurbished windows, I was in need of a good filler. I normally avoid Bix Box Store products since they are aimed at "Dummies. " I was blown away by how easy it is to use and how effective it is. As well, the shelf life of this product is excellent and shows no signs of degrading. The original open container of any of my products is never used. In my household, I purchase those disposable condiment cups and use them to put whatever I need inside, and I close the lid right away. The wood dried very hard and sanded very It took me only an hour for the primer and paint to dry and I was pleased In my opinion, this product is worth buying.
Using the lumber filler in fir/maple is what I purchased. Maple table tops were a good match for it. I like how the color was darker when wet than it was when By using an orbital sander combined with some hand sanding at the end, I was able to remove it just fine. The putty had a few bubbles when I did not pack it down For one, I would suggest you use some kind of putty knife. On the other, you can use an old credit card. If any bubbles remain after sanding, simply reapply more and sand again. *Then, sand away the whole thing, because filler on a nice table without paint doesn't look that nice. In the beginning, there was a deep burn on After using a knife to dig away the burn marks, I had indentions left behind. Filling those holes with putty required a purchase of putty. At the end, I decided not to use filler, instead I sanded away all the holes from the knife. In spite of that, the putty worked well and I will definitely use it again in the future.
For an exterior door, I purchased this to "fill in" damaged areas of the veneer. I used a 4" drywall/putty knife to "towel" the filler into the holes left by the bad veneer. A shallow fill dried quickly because it was shallow. One light coat of paint and some light sanding were all that was needed to remove the veneer break. The filling was used to fill in rotted lines on a door window and This was an easy form to fill. There is a lot of fluid in this material, it dries rapidly and sands out very The look of it indicates that if it is painted with one or two coats of good exterior paint, it will last for a long time.
The grains are very fine, easy to apply, quick to dry, have very good hardness when dried, and sand and shape easily it is water resistant when cured its price is very good the amount is superior and it does not dry in its container during storage. The product is a strong recommendation for any project involving DIY, particularly model building.
There is no better time than now! Pros include Fast drying and hard to remove. If thinned enough, it can be used as a glaze to fill in even the slightest inconsistencies in wood before it is sprayed. A precise match is ensured on the basis of the Therefore, the maple filler complements the hardwood and plywood of real maple perfectly. I recommend buying it.
It is necessary for me to fill nail holes and other imperfections frequently in my work as a cabinetmaker. It is the best wood filler that I have ever used, and I have tried a number of them. The coating dries relatively quickly and is easy to apply. The sand is good. One thing to be aware of, however, is that if you leave the lid off for too long it will dry out quickly. Stiff and impossible to spread, it hardens quickly. Therefore, when I use it, I dip out some of the putty knife with a 1" putty knife and replace the lid immediately. The idea of good things going to waste makes me sad.
Neither of them could beat it. A mitered joint on my maple table needed a bit of filler so I bought some filler. Since I have put a lot of time and effort into building the table, I wanted a filler that would be able to hold up to As part of my testing I used Timbermate, Minwax, and Famowood (as well as the latex ishes). An updated version is available). There was no doubt that this was the best brand to apply it was easy to apply and took the stain better than the other two. Despite the fact that none of them did well with gel stains, the Famowood stain looked almost the same. There was a pre-existing document that I used The stain is applied over the maple and the filler before the stain is applied. This is impressive!.
I used it to reinsert a rotted section of my deck that was 1 inch deep and wide. With a spatula, you could pick all of it out of the crack after about a week. There was a lot of strength and consistency to it - like dried toothpaste. I would buy the solvent next time. To see whether I can make it work better with the original Famowood, I based it on the original.
