Questions & Answers

Do you think you could thin plastic wood with water by using DAP?

I found a spatula worked better for applying thin smooth coats than water. I thinned it with water, and it worked just fine. I like the ability to keep adding small amounts of water in order to keep it moist despite the fact that it does dry out fast.

This will be used to fill in the legs of a coffee table. A portion of chipwood became detached from the screw holes to the edge because of the screws. Do you think it will ?

It would be great to fill in the bits around the screws with this.

I have a hole about an inch by an inch in my porch caused by wear and tear. Is this going to fill that hole in? Thanks so much! Have a good day. ?

That should be the case. Can you tell me how deep this space is?

Do you have any experience with outdoor use? After I filled in a rotten door jam, everything appeared to be fine until it started raining. Mold has now grown on it and the mush has turned mushy. ?

Over the course of a few weeks, it came apart piece by piece after I put it on an outdoor table made from redwood. This is not a product I would recommend.

The DAP Plastic Latex Wood Filler is a plastic latex based wood filler
5/5

The process is simple, cost-effective, and easy. The addition of Amazon to the Amazon marketplace is impressive Describe the item. In addition, I used this to fill in old nails and screws that were removed from redwood railings and balusters, and to fill in cracks and smaller missing wood sections. The spread is smooth and well-kept. I am very pleased with the results Filler was sanded flush (I used an orbital sander for 5 seconds per hole), and then the railing was stained. The primer does not need to be applied. It is apparent there is no evidence of surface irregularities in the final product. In spite of this, with repeated opening of the plastic container (which is not sealed very well) it begins to dry out, turns into sort of a crumbly filler. It's best to mix the putty by dipping your putty knife in mineral spirits (just to wet it) before you use it. You can repeat the process (dip and mix) as long as the end product has a As if it were butter, it should spread like that. In my experience, this remedy can be repeated several times. As filler dries to an almond hue, I recommend you finish with a stain/paint in the same color to prevent it from showing through unless you are using a darker No shrinkage is detected in filler, and acceptance of my dark solid stains when sealed with oil-based Cabot is great. Removing the railing is not the only way to fix it It is difficult to tell that it was renovated when it was installed. The Amazon Add-on butter knife is available as a free download on Amazon. Moisture makes it mushy, and mold then forms on top of it
3/5

There's no point in bothering. I invite you to look at the attached picture. About a month ago, I installed a small amount on the wood in this photo. I don't mind if the sand is wet or the planes are wet, just don't get it It acts like bread dough when I run a screwdriver through it! Until it rained, I had filled in a rotted door jam and it seemed to be working great. Mold has now grown on it and the mush has turned mushy. There are other outdoor activities that I would like to try.

The film did not adhere well to the wall
3/5

I used to use plastic wood years ago, but it is not as good as the original. I tried to fill a long 1/2 inch tube An individual table has a 1 1/2" deep, 1" wide gash in the wood. The majority of hair fell out over the course of 24 hours. This is not the plastic wood I used a few.

I am not sure how strong it is
3/5

This filler will fill a hole, but it has a weak texture, you can scrape it off with your fingernail. My first impression of it was that it was almost dried out. I added a little water to the mixture. I stirred it up really well and applied it. I had to wait a long time for it There is no way to secure screws in it. The powder will turn to dust if you try to use it. I did not expect it to happen that way. When using the legs of the coffee table, I positioned them where they contact the main part. A place where the screws had stripped out. There was no point in using it That's the only thing it can be used for, from what I can see. It can cover holes and paint or stain mite work.

In many applications, this is not useful
3/5

This product did not suit my tastes at all, as far as looks, feel, or functionality goes. In order to fill a dot on my wooden deck, this was not a suitable material. I didn't have to worry about it staining. After replacing the board, I am happy with the results.

A Simple to Use Program Cracks are a certain thing
4/5

This is an easy product to use and seems durable once it has cured, although it may crack. Although I used it for an exterior project, the cosmetics were not that important to me, but if you are using it for furniture where these items must look good, I would recommend you not use.

There is no difference between the real wood and the area that was filled
3/5

I'm just fine with it. A hole was drilled too large in the pivot joints of my bifolding doors. Once I had filled the hole with the product, I had to re-drill it into the proper size after the area was filled. The area which was filled did not resemble The hole did not make a clean cut because the crumbled. As long as it works for now, it's good enough. This is probably not a product I would buy I specifically stated the goal I had in mind.

This is exactly what I'm looking for! There are holes as well
5/5

About five different sizes of holes were made by the woodpecker in my shed, the largest measuring about two inches in diameter. With this product, I filled each of the holes, including this large hole, without using cuts or ripping away from the original wood siding like I did with some other wood fillers I tried in the past. This was applied by finger and cleanup was quick and easy! The time I would have saved had I found this product sooner and not wasted all that money on other products that didn't even come close to working!.
