Questions & Answers
Putty-like in its ability to be molded. I have to work very quickly with it because it does not dry so fast. Similarly, it doesn't take too long for it to dry to the point where you can sand it once you've applied it, although I usually try to leave it It is my opinion that it is one of the best wood fillers on the market.
When damp, the wood color will be a tan or light wood hue
A beige color is represented by this wood filler.
Surfaces that are painted shouldn't be filled with the filler. Apply the filler to the bare wood surface and then sand it to a smooth finish
Selected User Reviews For Carpenter's Wood Filler, Interior Only, 16 Ounces, E849D8
A review of Carpenter's Wood Filler, Interior Only, 16 Ounces, E849D8 is presented here. My experience with this product was very disappointing. I bought it based on the recommendations of DIYers on YouTube. Critical reviews should have been read before I made my decision. Compared to DAP's wood filler, this wood filler stands out as much inferior. It's vital to note that Elmer's Carpenter's Wood Filler can crack and shrink. This was such a waste of my time and effort. Fortunately, it was cheap. I would not recommend this wood filler, but would recommend DAP's wood filler instead.
It's one of the things we reach for the most We would like to thank wood filler companies for restoring our 100+ year-old house A bungalow from the past. These products work great for small, simple filling repairs. We've tried a lot of different ones and this one is the best one. It's easy to use. It sands down smoothly. It doesn't crack away from the fill joints. It's long-lasting. *obviously*obviously*
Not difficult to sand
Long life. (I have used this for at least 6 years and it is still going strong)
==== CONS
It is not Use only on wood that will be stained.
Lid does not seal well (workaround - don't use it on wood that will be stained) The wood filler should be kept in a ziplock bag in order to prevent it from drying out.
You can't go wrong working with this filler. It includes a smooth surface, is easy to work with, and dries quickly This product comes in a full Mickey Mouse package An animal container for mice. The kit needs to be immediately put in a ziplock bag once you open it or else it will not be usable for a long time. This is Elmers – You need a thicker plastic container with a lock on the lid that is more secure.
In addition to using this to skim coat my cabinets, I thought I should buy a larger container because I did not know how much I would need and wanted to use the leftovers on Having a trash can like this in your shop would be nice, however the flimsy plastic does not reseal well, the lid sits on top but does not lock into place, so the leftovers started drying out even before the cabinets were completed. seems to be a very wasteful product since it is designed for one-time use.
There are a number of reasons why you should choose this filler for your finish work. It is very fine and spreads very well into cracks and pores due to its thin consistency. It is inadvisable to use a container that does not seal well and will cause it to dry out faster. If you only intend to use small amounts of this, you should transfer it to a clean jar with a tight fitting cap. It is readily thinned with water so you can reduce the viscosity to whatever you prefer. In the world of wood fillers, this is the best wood filler and is.
It's awesome! I have been using it for years. For water-soluble products, it applies smoothly and dries fast The surface is nicely based and sanded.
This product may be easily thinned with water if necessary, and shrinks very little when thinning. It is lightweight. Stains are pretty well absorbed by a neutral color. In addition to using this woodworking tool, I also use it for balsa RC airplanes with great success.
Seems ok, but not new. There was a little left in the cup, but it was not new as stated in the When the box was opened, the seal tab was missing and the lid was up. The box looked used and as noted, it had lost its seal. Despite the price difference, big box stores were still cheaper than us, and we needed them for a particular project, so we didn't have to deal with the hassle of returning them. I am disappointed in the condition in which it was delivered, but it is still usable.
There are more benefits than you can imagine for your money. I would rather buy the same thing at the store, but in a smaller quantity. Why is it more expensive (if not the same)?.
