Ideally, you would want a metal or metal mesh base to prevent rodents from chewing through it. There is no doubt that mice will not only chew through silicone, but some of them may even ingest It has been 30 full days for me so far. Over the years I have used this in my aquariums. The 125 leaks 3 years ago it has been sitting in storage for three years. I decided to take it out and fix it using razor blades and acetone to remove the old silicone I applied sheet silicone to the edges of the glass. It is now back to normal. It is free and there are no dead fishes. LOL would recommend this product to anyone repairing an aquarium. A large aquarium will need at least one full tube of silicone caulk to seal it. The smaller tubes of caulking that work for aquariums of 20 gallons and smaller will probably do the trick for you.

A caulk that is made of acrylic does not smooth out with water, like a caulking of oil. There is a strong odor following the application of this product. It is sticky like Elmer's glue and very sticky. It does not appear to be wise to use it as a finish job which will be visible, but rather for a hidden project which requires exterior caulking. Using it on a patio cover project, I utilized it to fill in large gaps and additional caulking was applied over any visible areas with a caulking that was more of a standard to work with that could be smoothed out with water and a finger.

However, once I got the kit, it proved to be Despite following the instructions, I could not get anything to come out of it. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't break through the seal. The pressure inside the tube was so great that the bottom of the tube literally popped off with a lot of silicone on it, There was a lot of sticky substance on it. There was no way I could even scrape it off with gloves on.

Using gloves when applying would be a good idea

I can't believe how watertight this is! Furthermore, the cost is less than half of what it would be in a local hardware store! Since gloves are required for applying, you should wear them, since they cannot be washed off. Then scrape it off after it has dried. These things are very sturdy!.

There were no caps

There were no caps, after opening the product, to keep it fresh after it had been opened. I loved the product but the caps were missing. There was no cover for it, so I had to make another one. Seeing as how the glue hardens once it is opened, it may seem like a minor glitch, but if it is, your product might be lost.
