No, because splitters can cause problems with sending the audio and video signals between the remote control and the receiver Testing is the main responsibility. The use of a splitter with this product would not be ideal.
In this case, it is for coaxial (TV) cables and it is very useful in that you can see which cable is which without having to follow the entire cable, which is impossible if it is covered or hidden behind walls, in the attic, etc. Sorry, but I'm not sure what you mean by "dragging the router".
A splitter should not be used with it, if my memory serves me. This is done so that each coax cable can be identified.
I am not sure about the maximum length, I have used it on a run that was about 200 feet and frequently use it on runs shorter than 100 feet. Tool that has proven very reliable.

At my home, I was only able to locate 2 of my 5 coax outlets after using this device. The program did not work on three of them. It could be that there's a splitter or something in the wall, but either way I was very disappointed it wasn't working. It was fortunate that I could figure out which wires went to which of the 3 outlets just by speculating, but this tester provided no help. My opinion is that it is a waste of money. I just updated In the past I gave this product one star, but now I'd like to give it three. Apparently, a Verizon technician told me these types of testers would not work if there were splitters present. don't know where it is, but my guess would be that there is a splitter somewhere in my walls. As I said, I won't condemn this product with a one star review if the fault doesn't lie with it. However, I also won't give it five stars. It didn't serve my purpose in the end, so I'm out twenty dollars A dollar and a half. If I sent it back, it would be more trouble than it is worth, so I'll simply keep it for a later date. So I guess it's not all bad since the one coax outlet that worked was very good.
It was easy to trace which cables at the box outside the house were connected to which jacks with this tool, just as it was easy to trace which cables in the junction box outside the house were connected to which jacks. If you plug in the 4 colored ends onto the jacks you want to trace, then go to the other end of the cable and plug in a cable until a green light appears next to one of the colored dots, then you have identified the 4 jacks in question. Until everything has been identified and everything has been fixed, repeat until everything has been fixed- I could not have asked for anything The tool itself is also separate from the color coded "caps," so I knocked off a single star mainly because they are stored in a foam piece that is separate from the tools themselves, almost guaranteeing It would be an easy 5 stars, even if it cost an additional few dollars, if the manufacturer molded storage spots for the caps into the body of the tool.
I have never owned a better mapper. In my experience, I have continued to buy new mappers every year after trying all of them. There was also the $20* Jonard which seemed to be the most popular. However, the battery of that piece of junk doesn't last more than a year, and eventually you just have to buy a new one because they don't offer any replacement parts. You don't have to use that piece of crap anymore with this mapper. With a velvet-like grip and a soft button, this has an equal feeling to it to the Jonard where you have to press very hard and the button itself will hurt your thumb after repeated use. The best part is that you can keep replacing the batteries on this device.
According to the description, this works In total, I was able to trace 12 different coax feeds from the distribution splitter to each TV hookup. We needed less than an hour to accomplish this! My antenna signal was weak in just one room because of an attic splitter buried in the ceiling - I discovered it when I was digging around in the attic. Like a nail it looked like the splitter was going through. My living room has six TV hookups, and I am only using three of them (do I really need to connect two hookups in the dining room and four While I could have bought a distribution amplifier, I decided against it because this was much less expensive and the distribution amplifier would have been overkill since I wanted only to isolate 3 hook ups. Although I probably won't engage in this again for a while or on a regular basis, I found the low cost to make it worthwhile.
It was so easy to identify outlets and match them all to the cable in the basement where the outlets were all located using this device. It is possible to put all 4 plugs on 4 different outlets at the same time. Then you plug the device into different cables, and if you connected the device to the same one, it will light up with the color of that plug. There are 4 times fewer times you have to go up and down.
A similar Klein unit died after a few years of light use. I replaced it with this unit. A rattle was audible within the Southwire tester as soon as it was opened. It seems that the LR44 batteries included in the kit were The batteries and patch cable worked, so I ran them through a tester. The next day, I used it, but no matter what I connected it to, I kept getting a yellow light. The cables I tested were all said to be bad, either by using the ID remotes or by just using a It was my expectation that Southwire would be better.
are lucky enough to have an electrician like we were, you will be happy to have this tool to hunt down problems with I really like this product! Very easy to use and great to work with. You can also use the tool to find bad There could be a problem with the end connectors on the cable wiring if you have digital over the air TV and are experiencing signal problems. When your wire is not properly grounded, or if your connection is poor, you will not receive strong signals. We had no labels on the cable wires left by our electrician when we moved to our new house years ago. Wish I had this years ago. In every room of the house, there is a wire!.
Assisted in moving into a rental house with some creative coaxing. Neither I nor anyone else knows what worked or not. After inserting the colored plugs in the coaxial connections, check all nine connections within 5 minutes. In addition to 4 active players, there are 3 inactive players and two not really good players. It's just what I've been looking for.
