Due to the Mutt's inability to work with trailers using a relay to power lights, these trailers cannot use the Mutt. It has been explained to me that this model is not wired for that - I contacted IPA about it. If you want to have that option, then you must buy the model that costs $1500 or more. Wires are changed/added on the more expensive model, but not on the cheaper model. In the end, they tried to make a big deal out of the limited power supply not working. It is not acceptable to yank around the customers who may not understand how these trailers work - we are competing with some big companies and not with smaller ones. Integrity in a company has gone to the dumps.

A couple of weeks ago, I broke the trailer turn signal relays inside the Power Distribution Center on my 2003 Ram after plugging into a trailer. It cost me $500 to get a new PDC. With this tool, I could have saved the money and time I would have spent replacing On one of my trailers, a Jayco travel trailer with incandescent bulbs, and on my Stealth enclosed car hauler with LED lights, the system worked well. I was able to use both systems without any problems. It is nice to have the option to check the lights whenever I feel I need to without having to bring the truck out. I can use this tool in both of my applications to check the interior lights of both trailers as well. In total, it cost me $65 for this unit and $58 for the GTX It cost me just under $200 to buy a 14BS battery at my local O'Reilly's Auto Parts. I was amazed at just how detailed the instructions were and there was a nice note from the owner of IPA at the end. To determine which battery to use, there is only one reference buried within the instructions. It is a graphics accelerator I purchased the 14BS and it works and fits as described. My trailers, which are not used every day, are important to me, so I like to pay special attention to them. By doing so, I will be able to ensure both trailers are ready for use in terms of their lighting and braking systems. My recommendation for this unit is a definite yes!.

The two failed within a few months of each other. Prior to first use, the first unit had been broken out of the box. There was a problem with one of the flashers. It took the seller two days to accept my return, so I ordered another. Two months after the first failed, the second one also failed. Only a dozen times have I used the flashers before both stopped working. It has been my direct responsibility to contact the manufacturer. I hope they are able to resolve the.

Maintenance of trailer lights made easy with this excellent tool. Although it would be nice if the case accommodated the adapter and charger, Harbor Freight Tactical Ammo and Utility Boxes can be used for the tester and other items. This YTX14-based device is available on Amazon for a low price For about $35, you can get the BS battery. I would have rated this five stars except for the incident of the right flasher tester failing after one use with the first one. The flasher was easy to change, too, as Amazon sent me a replacement quickly and an IPA sent me an additional one. The problem with my boat trailer lights years ago would have been solved if I had one of these years ago. I found this to be especially true when a vehicle was unavailable.

Throughout the country, we ship at least 100 Car Tow Dollies each month. Our previous system did not provide a quick and easy way for us to test the wiring and lights before they left. I have a company that sells trailers and I need something to test my lights without having to pull out my truck at every site. also tried one of the expensive ones and had to run an extension cord out 200+ feet to reach the trailer sometimes or plug it into an inverter in the truck, so once I got this one I thought it would be fairly inexpensive, but I was amazed how reliable and well made it is. The product is excellent, and I recommend it to anyone who sells, troubleshoots, or builds trailers. I can't believe I have survived this long without a battery powered tester as it will save me and my employees 20 or more minutes daily.
