Questions & Answers

The dimmer that comes with this kit is a dimmer / switch If you prefer, you can use poles Would you like to switch locations?

A complete list of all Caseta products can be found here Dimmers with a single pole are called wall dimmers. To install the Caseta, you will need to splice the wires according to the instructions, in one of the spots where the original 3-pin connector was originally located Replace the switch with an in-line switch and install the in-line switch A wall dimmer is located in the other room. The Pico remote can then be installed at the location where the wires were tied. In most cases, the Pico remote should function at greater than 30 feet unless the wall is concrete or the framing is steel. As a worst case scenario, the 30ft distance is the maximum. You should position your Smart Bridge Pro in a central location and connect it to your router using an Ethernet

Does this have the home kit from version 2 of the pro bridge?

However, I received a regular bridge instead of the Smart bridge Pro in the image. The seller on Amazon who sent the item was named "Lutron", so as not to have such problems with the order. I am disappointed.

What kind of smart bridge will this kit come with? The smart bridge pro or the ?

There is a Smart Bridge Pro included as well. It should be noted that the Amazon listing contains an error. I am BDGPRO. Packet 1W) There are two Smart Bridge Pros and one Infrared Bridge The wall-mounted dimmers have a 600W output, one Pico remote control, one Lutron Claro designer wallplate, and no tabletop pedestal.

The switch is great
5/5

If your home does not have a neutral wire or if you prefer not to use a wireless network, those are the perfect switches A smart switch that connects to Wi-Fi. Whether you use Alexa or another hub, the hub will integrate directly with it. The main reason I use Hubitat is that it enables me to automate more tasks. The biggest complaint I have is that they are quite expensive. Another complaint is that the switch itself only works when there is some force applied to it. All you have to do is get used to it. The pico remotes are great too since you can use them as 3 way switches or to control other devices. Having a 3way switch at the end of my hallway also enables me to have an LED strip linked to the off button that will stay on when motion is detected, but will turn off when the pico is pressed.

The installation could not be completed
3/5

I have not been able to get this working. Online instructions do not exist! All support categories state both "Sorry, there are no instructions available at this time. " and "Please let us know if the instructions are available at any other time. " A handout that came with the dimmer states that you will need to follow the instructions provided by your smartphone. There is nothing more to say. The system refused to let me log in after I created six (6) different login accounts and verified each one with an email response. A number of attempts have been made over the past few days with no success. I was not able to access the installation process as a result. Having returned the system, I have turned it off. The experience I had was terrible, and I wish you a more positive one!.

This is a very DIY friendly product
4/5

My intention was to automate lighting remotely through a Caseta system using the Pro bridge, but I decided to go with the Caseta system rather than the Pro bridge for a couple of There are several reasons to choose Lutron. They use dimmers and light switches made by a lighting company, not a tech company, and these are known for being reliable and not too techy looking. The second is that, while the Pro bridge version is a little more expensive, it integrates with Hubitat, which I'm inclined to use My LED lights flash briefly before turning on, but that's the only issue I've encountered so far. There is a known issue with the dimmer, and, if Lutron could fix it, it would be perfect. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 due to this problem.

It has a good concept and is convenient, but LED lights don't work as intended
4/5

The media room of my house is decorated with two strings of LED rope lights hanging from a wooden shelf. The level of lighting before and during watching a movie needs to be controlled. I have a new Harmony Remote that I can use to control the lighting remotely. I really like the combination of these two. Setting up the system is easy. I first had to connect to my phone, but the app downloaded and worked the first time. Quite cool, but I don't want to control my lights from my phone I want to use My business is now in full swing as a result of that as well. There is however a problem with the LED string lights. They do not completely shut At present, they run about 10% of maximum intensity 24 hours a day. My Caseta Pro switches were given to me by a friend- The LED lights are not completely turned off by either of these two methods. With halogen bulbs, another wall mount Ceseta plugs into a receptacle works like a charm. The string light maker (imported from China) is not taking responsibility for the failure and said LED's will work very well at a low power level. Even when in the OFF position, this Caseta seems to pass very little current. Those instructions address this concern, and there's a way to make the current pass less often. I have tried it on both switches and still the units are passing very little This is a bummer, and I'm sure my energy bill will go up, and those LED string lights will probably burn out in 20,000 hours of continuous low usage. I love the concept and the convenience, but find the price a bit high.

My home automation system is the most reliable I've ever had
5/5

The ClearConnect technology of Lutron is unbeatable, and it works quickly and reliably every time. There are no complicated steps to install the software. I had a bad experience with Insteon products years ago when it came to getting scenes to trigger. Lutron is comparatively rock solid in this regard. Despite the fact that the primary locus of control is within my home rather than in the "cloud", and the cloud features are entirely optional (but still available), I enjoy this product as well. It would be nice if the remotes could be paired with three devices for three-way communication It is possible to turn on or off shades or way control completely. In addition, the best HomeKit integration among the various devices I own is partly due to the fact that it is wired into my wireless network Instead of using Bluetooth Low Energy often unreliable and slow, a wireless router can be connected directly to the router. Part of the reason for the difference in reliability might also be due to the fact that HomeKit devices that use BTLE have slightly underpowered processors that make it difficult to pair. The connection between my iOS device and my home wireless network is stable and reliable 100% of the time There is a wireless The integrations with Nest and IFTTT have not been tested. Lutron's remotes could be made generic buttons so that they can activate entire HomeKit scenes instead of only being triggered by individual buttons, but that would be the only thing I wish for. I would also like it if Lutron switches could also be linked together so you could trigger an entire scene with one switch. That would be much more convenient than adding a remote control. Smart Bridge Pro is compatible with an integration protocol that might allow me (as a programmer) to implement those features, and maybe I could also do the same thing with clever HomeKit automations, but it would be nice if it had built-in support.

I find this smart home system to be extremely reliable
5/5

As for this Pro version, I am not certain what the difference is between it and the non-pro version This app is not only a pro, but it also It is easy to set up schedules like turn on / off / sunset and so on. Worked with apple home very smoothly. The installation of dimmers is typically a DIY project. Even for 3-dimensional objects, a detailed description is required In 15 minutes, you can install the way.
