It cannot be screwed into the socket, this is not the type that screws into a socket.
The official size is 6 3/8 inches. 6 3/8 is always the size. The perfect size to fit a remodel can without a gap, and still have room for adjustments. Create the hole for your guide in the center of the circle and you'll be all set. The remodel can comes with a template that you can trace. Put a hole in the center of a piece of paper folded in fourths. Mark the center of the light hole on your template where you want your can. Then trace around the outside of the light. You can use a drywall saw to manually cut it.
The difference between cool white (4000k) and daylight (5000k) is that cool white is cooler.
You have to factor in the height of your ceiling when spacing recessed lights. The height of the ceiling divided by two is the height of the ceiling. You can use this answer to determine the maximum distance for placement of lights. When light is mounted along walls, let it be between 2 and 3 feet from the wall to prevent dark corners (which can make a room appear smaller than it really Using this rule of thumb, place the first light two to three feet from the wall on an 8 foot high ceiling. The next light is to be placed four feet beyond the center of that Shorten the distance and use additional lights (in this example, say three feet apart) if aesthetics need to be adjusted.

The project required a ceiling thickness of less than 2 inches so we purchased 11 WF6 30K LED lights. This is a purpose for which they are perfect and they look good as well. As much as I would have liked to have looked at the compatibility list on Lithonia's website, my only disappointment is that there are no Both Leviton DZ1KD and Leviton DZ6HD did not work and I obtained flickering lights at nearly all dimmer levels and in all programmable modes of light I had no problems with Lutron Caseta P- right out of the box Packing Group 1W.
Despite the fact that they are made well and engineered brilliantly, they are very expensive. one clip of the spring clip snapped as it was being installed in the shower, never to be seen again in the rafters. Customer service at Lithonia helped me check if I could get a replacement part. Since this is basically a sealed unit, I couldn't get one. As part of their warranty program, they offered to send me a new light free of charge if I provided them with some pictures, numbers, etc. I complied via an email submission, and they responded that the new light would be on its way to me right away. Surely there is no company out there that is this responsive. They have my loyalty forever. I am almost shocked that it can all be done in less than 24 hours. It is highly recommended and I highly recommend the company and product.
Our basement was just completed and we installed these things on the walls (plus two 4in). I am floored by the quality of these! In addition to the thin thinness and the amazingly intense brightness, the light portion only relies on the spring loaded side claps for holding it in place. I was thrilled that I didn't have to install huge recessed luminaires because they also work well with the dimmers in the house. Here are a few suggestions I-*- *- Canisters do not work this way If you are installing these with a new construction or tearing out the whole ceiling, you'll need to order style lights If you take out the canister, there will be no way to guide where to cut. In order for the cord from the associated distribution box to reach the light fixture, it will be necessary to keep track of the location of the base unit (up in the ceiling) -*br- You will have to be creative if you are remodeling and replacing the canisters. This may be difficult for the associated distribution box to fit connections - Unlike "bulbs", there are no replaceable parts. Although the units are expected to last 36k hours, you may still want to purchase a few spare parts in case you are unhappy with your entire fixture after the warranty period is over and they no longer make them in favor of the next new ceiling-mounted model. A light degree of heat will be felt.
In the 1970s, my dad and I installed these recess LED lighting fixtures in four fluorescent T12 fixtures. I don't recall my dad (a retired electrician) having ever installed any of I love how easy it is. As he surveyed how far "recess cans" have improved over the years, he was amazed by their evolution. On the internet, I found a video that described how to install them. This was so simple that we were shocked. I know my father is going to install these in his house now, because he liked them so much. We have four fans in the main ceiling recess) and there is You should make sure that the dimmer switch you buy is of good quality. For great, current lighting, you no longer need to remove your entire ceiling to install big, rectangular pendants! We were going to have to tear through my ceiling to install recess lights, and my nightmares were of what we were going to be tearing down. Thanks so much for this product! I am so happy I found it!.
I am an electrician, so I purchased the item to see what it is like. The products I have installed in the field are similar to the Lithonia flat panel LED products clients have been happy with in the past. The pros are I really appreciate the fact that I can set the color temperature and I can control the light output. This type of lighting can be fitted under pipes and in other tight ceiling spaces not suitable for traditional recessed lighting. Among the cons On my workbench, I had an audible buzzing from the transformer after I hooked up a Lutron 153p dimmer. Once the transformer has been installed, it will most likely not be an issue since the transformer will be buried in the ceiling and will be In my opinion, however, the light does NOT pose a risk Noise will likely cause a picky client to request a callback. Dimmable due to this reason will most likely result in a callback.
It is really great to have these lights around. Ultra thin is what they mean when they say it. One of the most amazing things about a thin light is how many lumens it produces. I'm really impressed with how bright they are, and they dim without a flicker. My laundry room is approximately 6 feet by 5 feet, so I installed two first there. As well as installing a motion sensor switch, these lights will also turn on when you enter the laundry room, since it is likely you will be carrying a bag of laundry as you enter. The thing that makes these lights so spectacular is the way they catch the eye. Ideally, I would like to place three in the hallway where the garage is located. The illumination was not good before because of a single light fixture. The floor joists from above ran down the center of the hallway where I wanted to install these lights, which made me more concerned when I tore down the existing fixture. It's impossible to see these lights through their thinness. Thinner even than the drywall used for the ceiling. No problems were encountered during installation. My initial impression was very positive at that point. I'd like to point out about them is that they are quite bright to the point that if you glance at them directly they seem a bit overwhelming. They produce the most amazing light tone that is neither too white nor too yellow, and being able to dim them makes them even better.
