Yes, provide them with 120 volts of electricity. Each light has its own power supply, which draws the DC current it needs from the 120VAC.
The letter ETL is written in the box.
Yes! There is a ground included with the lights. It's the same way in my house.

Overall, it's a great product, but a few minor tweaks could really help them out. br>br>1 - If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "innov There should be a significant difference between the inner and outer edges of the lamp disk. One must be 'too careful' to ensure that the hole is large enough to fit the backside of the lamp disk in but not so large that an air gap appears. A minor 1/4 inch difference would be much better, I believe.
2 - It's a good idea to have the electrical connection ready ahead of time. Push connectors are a pleasure to work with in this application because they save time and space in the small junction box. They should come that way instead of with wire nuts, which I used/added. br>3 - The holders that are spring-loaded should be weaker. Working with the spring strength used is an unnecessary hassle.
The few disadvantages outnumber the advantages. The lights are in good working order. They're extremely bright. The color scheme is appealing. I'm in the process of renovating my house. Around 40 lights were installed. My only real complaint is that the "o-" in "o-" in "o-" in "o-" in The "ring" cushion that seals the light to the ceiling leaves a small gap in some places, which can cast a shadow in some rooms. lighting. In other words, it makes it a little "unflush" in some places. Also, while the clamps work well for the initial installation, they can loosen up if you have to remove them. The ceiling seal deteriorates, necessitating the removal of the spring. They should be adjusted. Color-changing abilities The reason I ordered these was to be able to install them directly to a stud. If the need arose, I would order these again.
It was simple to put together the product. Drilled holes, ran Romex, connected wires, and voila, lights! br>However, one light has already "burned out" after only one week. Connections are tight; I swapped light pucks from another working light, but the problem still exists in the circuit's second light. Faulty jbox is the source of the issue. Cloudy Bay has been contacted, but no response has been received so far. br>It's unfortunate that after paying a premium for these color temperature changing lights, they fail so quickly. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> br>The original rating was one star, but it has since been updated to five stars. The seller contacted me and sent me an express light replacement. All six lights are now in perfect working order. To ensure product performance, a quick response is required. Cloudy Bay, I appreciate it!.
It fits perfectly into a junction box. It was brighter than I had anticipated. I chose these over the identical-looking ones. There are three main reasons why you should look into competing products: Available in 6 packs (many competing products come in 8 or 12 packs) (I only needed 3), three colors to choose from, and a good price per unit. br>br>In general, installation is simple. Subtract the number of punches from the total number of punches. Install 3/8" NM clamps (not included), run the Romex wire through them, wire it up with the included wire nuts, and then push the control box up into the hole. If you want to secure it, it has screw holes, but most people (including myself) don't. Then plug in the light, place the spring clips in the holes, and close it. I had to replace a couple of flush-mount fixtures. With these, I was able to mount "boob lights," so cutting out the original junction boxes was a little more work, but once the junction boxes (4" round type) were removed, I was left with the perfect sized hole for these to fit right into. That was the case in my upstairs hallway, at least. My basement hallway was built by the homeowner, and his junction box hole was a lot sloppier than mine, so I had to do some trimming to get it right. Because mine fit into existing junction box holes, I didn't have to worry about thickness, but they're still quite thin. If you have 1/2" drywall, they will definitely clear any joists. They look great after they've been installed! The clean, flat appearance appeals to me greatly. They were also a pleasant surprise in terms of brightness. The old "boob lights" contained 15W (60W equiv) CFLs that were supposed to last for 800-hours. Lumens. These are priced between 650 and 700 dollars each. Lumens are a measure of how bright something is. At first, I thought it was a little too bright for a hallway, but I've grown accustomed to it and it now feels just right. The only minor gripe I have is that one of the two lights in the upstairs hallway is noticeably warmer than the other, despite the fact that they are both set to 4000K. However, it isn't bothersome enough to make me want to try swapping out the lights and/or control box, especially since wiring the upstairs lights was made more difficult by the builder's decision to secure all wiring to the ceiling joists, leaving me with very little slack to work with. I didn t give them a star because I would say I am 95% pleased with them and very glad I went for these 4" recessed rather than just nicer looking flush mount fixtures%.
On a couple of projects, I've used these. The first ones were of higher quality than the latter. I like how the driver/light is designed, as well as how the colors can be switched. Wiring is simple, and a template for cutting holes is included. The 10%-20 off coupon is the icing on the cake. I don't like how they tin the ends of the wires because it makes bonding to solid wire difficult, especially with the crappy wire nuts they provide. Some of the 'can' manufacturers the push-to-connect fittings are in place I wish these people would follow suit. Working with the tinned, small wires in the driver box isn't easy. I don't nut the two wires together (parallel) like some electricians do. I always nut wires after twisting them together. The final twist is made more difficult by tinning.
These are absolutely fantastic. They're ultra-thin, so you can take them with you wherever you go. The days of colossal can fixtures are long gone. Thank goodness for that. Metal boxes and connectors are included in the package. They produce an incredible amount of light, and the quality and whiteness of that light is incredible. These are in our master bath and are controlled by a simple dimmer switch. They are fantastic. There is no fading or flickering. These are simple to set up and can be done by almost anyone. They come with a hole template, and spring/clips are used to secure them in the hole. The lights themselves don't generate much heat at all. Excellent value for money! This is an excellent item.
