Questions & Answers

What are the best methods for making sure I have two sets of different frequencies in case I order two?

The device makes its debut on Amazon, and as it turns out, it is the same as DEWENWILS remote wall switches (also sold by Amazon) in a different package. It is possible to add another remote control to a Westek device using the following procedure You will need an indoor outlet to plug the receiver in. ** 2. When the indicator light on the receiver starts to flash slowly, press and hold the programming button on the receiver. 3. *br> Once you have completed programming your remote, let go of the programming button and simply press ON, then OFF. The fourth point Indications that the programming has been successfully set are in the form of the light not flashing anymore. Using the above instructions, I was able to program both switch plates to the same plug. I hope this will be helpful to

Are there any channels that can be ordered separately and how many can I choose from?

With 4 channels, the Xodus HW2175 is a great choice

When a remote is activated, how deep will it go? What are my options when it comes to cutting a hole in the wall and installing a box?

There is a switch lever on it, but it's about 16 mm thick otherwise. Nothing needs to be cut into the wall to be installed. There may be a few screw holes in the wall, but for the most part one just affixes the bracket using the provided double-sided tape The tape is double-sided. My copy of the book is just on my desk, not attached to the wall. This has been very helpful to me!

There seems to be a lot of space on the receiver. Can one of the outlets in the typical 2-way outlet be accessed while the device is in place Could you tell me where the outlet box is?

Any switch can be used regardless of which box is connected. An outlet is needed for the receiver part and it connects to it There is nothing wrong with it, it's just a bit A 2-prong plug is not capable of being plugged into an upper socket of a 2-prong plug There is a lot of wall outlet around the outlet box above the lower socket, but not blocked by the box. My only point to emphasize is the fact that the receiver has only a 2-prong outlet Plug does not have a ground and has three prongs. To illustrate my point, I used a 3-inch ruler Use a grounded plug adapter to plug in a grounded plug and ground the adapter to the outlet.

The device can be programmed
5/5

With one switch you can control multiple outlets, or to one switch you can map several switches. My mistake was maybe not reading the manual closely enough (or at all), and I was getting hung up on user reviews about how you get one of four frequencies when you order, and there was no way to choose before ordering If you select two switches which are both controlled by one switch you can, for example, get two switches with the same control. However, I bought another item from another manufacturer that came with programming instructions and looked similar enough that I decided it was worth a try. The process is as follows I am - When the green light starts blinking slowly, hold the button on the outlet for several seconds. I am - By pressing ON and OFF on the switch you want to control that outlet, you can control it. I am - Having done something wrong is no big deal as long as you don't do it on purpose. The following steps should be followed to clear the programming (so the outlet no longer responds to any I am - When the green light on the outlet starts blinking SLOWLY, press and hold the button for a few seconds until it gets faster (it will first blink slowly, then fast). I am - The programming on the outlet will be cleared after pressing the button a second time. It's true that the SWITCHES turn on and off at whatever frequency they decide to do so, and there is no way for one to anticipate when they do so There are almost no issues you can't resolve with programming, so select that. As a result, I have changed my rating from 4 to 5 Flexibility is one of their greatest assets. This book is highly The review was not my work - I did not receive any compensation for it. This discovery I found interesting so I thought I would share it with you!.

This works great for multiple lamps in one room, but you might have trouble finding the channel you want
4/5

Having recently moved into a rental house with no overhead lighting in the main sitting room is a major inconvenience. I have lots of large bay windows that let in plenty of light during the day, but at night, it turns into a cave. If it weren't a rental, I would wire the ceiling with overhead lights, but as it stands, I have lamps in the corners of all the spaces. However, it is a big hassle to have to go around turning all the lights on and off, so my goal was to minimize the amount of legwork involved in getting a luminous atmosphere in that room. All of them had to be on the same channel for me to do this. In the description, random channels are sent unless otherwise requested. This has proven to be the hardest part. The first order I made was for two channels of the same type. I was given an E channel and an F channel when they arrived. My request for the F channel was specifically spelled out in the return notes, when I initiated the exchange. Arriving as a G, it had no other markings. So, I ordered a 4th one requesting another F and received an E in place of it. Thank goodness I had not returned any of the originals and realized that I had at least one pair of the same channel, so I put them to the test and they worked Please note that It is essential that you are using the same channel if you are using several of these in the house and want one switch to control multiple lamps, as I did. It's essential to have separate channels in the house if you are using more than one of these to control different things in different rooms. It appears that there are strong signals. What you need to know, then, is There's no way to make the setup easier than this. In this case, you have to unscrew the screws holding the white face plate on the switch box and remove the tab blocking the battery, and then you plug the switch in wherever you choose it, and you hold the switch box close to where it will be mounted. The outlets in one room were installed in two separate boxes. To power a lamp on top of an end table by the couch, put one outlet under/behind the end table, and to power another lamp ontop of an accent table on the opposite side of the room, place one outlet under/behind the second and third tables. There was no interference with the signal at all from the tables and objects in the way. I am so impressed with how well they worked! attach it to the wall, you should mount it using the screws and anchors provided. Despite its minimalism and small size, the switch box weighs just a few ounces and includes overkill hardware. their inclusion of it, but I honestly do not understand the need for two wall anchors and two screws to mount something so light and small. Instead, I mounted it on the wall using two paper thin, clear Command strips (the kind intended for hanging posters, etc. ) next to another light switch, and it worked just fine. Clearly, this won't go away any time soon. I just wanted to let you know that it's more of a button than an actual In order to use it, you need to press the top or bottom of the button, not flip it up and down. With a press of either side, it will turn on or off. An odd click sound is made when you push the button, but nothing offensive. Just for the record, it isn't quite like flipping a switch like you might expect. That's not really a problem, just a comment. In my pictures, the size and appearance of this switchplate are quite a bit like an inwall switch, but they are not exact as this box is quite a bit thicker/bulkier, and the switch isn't a switch either, but a push In any case, I think it looks fine to me! The software works really well once it is installed, as I mentioned. white faceplate screws are made of cheap plastic and got all marred up just from gently unscrewing them with a regular screwdriver. I took away 1 star for that reason. I have included some pictures to illustrate what I am trying to say. This is tacky and makes them look cheap. It is extremely important that you be cautious in unscrewing them and putting them back in if you do not want them to get damaged. that, or you can swap them out for white metal screws of the same size. Furthermore, these plugs are only compatible with 2 prong outlets. If you need to plug in something that has 3 prongs, you'll either have to add a converter or you're out of luck. It would also be nice if the button were an actual switch, but that's a very minor nitpick. It wasn't the item itself (which is why I only took off one star) but getting the right parts for my needs that was the biggest problem with this item. It might not be possible to get the exact same things as you wished for (if you only need one), for that reason, you do not have to worry! This product is highly recommended for anyone who needs to turn on or off lamps, appliances, or any other electrical devices with a two pronged plug from a wall plate, as it will make the switch a snap. To be clear, I did NOT receive this item free of charge or at a reduced rate! (I bought all 4 of them at full price! It is my sincere hope that.

The process was relatively straightforward, but there were a few minor glitches
4/5

There are some great aspects of these and some that are sort of lacking. The switches work great for mounting a light switch on a work light in the basement workshop (there are yet no lights built in using these). would have liked to have been able to program an additional switch and plug to run on the same frequency (so I could have 2 plugs to plug in 2 lights and 2 switches to put on either end of the room), but this is not possible. Previously, you could at least pair a set that ran on the same frequency to be able to do that (the packages were labeled with a letter, and if you got two packages that had the same letter, they worked Still do the trick just wanted a second plug and switch for the same location. Another "blah" thing is that the remote is supposed to work, but you sometimes have to press it three or four times, and hold it for a few seconds for it to In any case, the previous model did not have this issue (I still own those and they're great). In spite of that, though, they are still quite useful and do the job.

This system works well, but is prone to breaking
3/5

My shop has one that I use to turn on and off the vacuum system. I've had it for years. Since you can carry it in your apron, it really comes in handy. The first two, which I had worn out, have been replaced by a third. The switch is not as shown in the pictures, but I hope that is enough to discourage you from purchasing this item. Smaller than a conventional light switch, the switch button looks like that of -( I had hoped the larger switch would make it last a little longer, but the one I just received has a switch is just a rocker that pivots on two small, plastic arms that tend to break Despite the fact that the switch is held in place with a piece of tape across the middle, it would be better if it were constructed to withstand a little more force. In addition, I had to replace the battery once - an item I could only buy.
