It has worked great for me for a number of 12 volt lighting systems all using LED lights. I'd recommend the 12/2 wire for large loads, or for prewiring during construction, so that you can add lighting, appliances, etc in the future, and not worry about
This cable needs to be rated for the voltage and have an integral ground cable built into it. Romex 14 gauge 2wire with ground should be used.

LEDs were chosen as the outdoor lighting source because of their low voltage. The sunvie 12w lights (10 pack) and another brand of 14/2 cable were purchased from Amazon. Simple installation and the cables can be separated so that the led connectors are able to be attached. As a result I went with this option instead of buying another 10 lights since I couldn't get the same 14/2 cable in time. Due to the difficulty at separating the cables to put the connectors in, it took a good deal of time to put them in and I ended up having to wrap some bare wire that I would sometimes accidentally expose. I gave it three stars because it works and does its job, and the cable seems well insulated from the elements. However, I wouldn't buy it.
