How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

50 Feet of 14AWG*2C wire
*[DIRECT BURIAL AND TANGLE-FREE] - Waterproof, dust and dirt resistant, rated for direct burial, Maintains durability over extended exposure to the sun, and is weather-resistant. This product is rated at 140°F, does not crack under high temperatures, nor does it turn hard under cold temperatures, offering long-lasting durability.
Copper conductors are more flexible, have higher conductivities and lower resistance when Due to the lower resistance of copper, overheating the cable is less likely to result in a fire. Aluminum is also much more fragile than copper, so copper is not easily broken by the installation process
[Low Voltage Usage] - The lighting cable can be used for low voltage outdoor applications such as accent lights, path lights, spotlights, a solar panel, outdoor speakers, and so on.
"[QUALITY AND SAFETY] - RoHS compliant fire-proof level VW-1 with lifetime guarantee of superior quality"

Questions & Answers

Do you prefer wire that is solid or braided?

There is no solid wire, it is stranded

Are there any cables I can use to connect four 100W flood lights?

Can you please clarify that you mean 12 volt It hasn't been my experience to see 12V lights of that size. This is not true. If they are indeed 12V, 100W lights, then the answer is no. A total load of 400W There is no way I know how much power 14 gauge wire can handle, but it's much less than 33 amps (probably closer to 15 amps). (1) 100W light is your limit. Assuming the lights you are using are 120V lights, then the answer is still no, since the wire you need is a low-voltage wire If you are using on a voltage higher than 24V, I would not recommend it. Please accept my sincere thanks.

Is it possible to bury this ?

As far as I know, it would work. I always run mine through plastic conduit through the concrete, so I can add/change it later. Since it is low voltage, any type of plastic can be used.

Is it true that the third picture of the coiling wire shows a wire gauge of 16 on its jacket? If it's supposed to be 14 gauge, why does it show 16 on the jacket?

Here, they're just using that picture to provide reference, but the product I received was 14 inches tall

It is perfect for low voltage landscape lighting
5/5

The 14 gauge is mounted on 100' runs loaded with LED lighting that uses about 60 watts of power total. This shows that it's a sufficient size, since there is no loss in light intensity at the end.

The optimum combination of cost-effectiveness and flexibility! The outdoor low voltage lighting system we had to expand and repair had been in place for 12 years
5/5

As you know, it's like that. It will require some new underground flexible cable to add low voltage lighting, add new connectors for low voltage lighting, etc. There was a stiff and unyielding cable in place previously. My search for a cable led me to this cable, and it turned out to be the best buy I could find. With a 14/2 gauge transmission, long distances are possible with effectiveness. My only complaint with this product is that there is no packing slip. P. S. The following hint may be helpful In the process of extending or adding cable, I used twisted / NASA splicing As a means of holding the connectors in place, I used shrink tubing. The twist-on connectors on the wires or the electrical tape were not used In comparison with a longer shrink tube connection, they appear to allow water to enter the electrical connection area more easily. Honestly, I am an honest person.

You need to be careful, the wire is too narrow
3/5

I like this wire because it's flexible and well insulated. Nevertheless, beware of the wire spacing as it may not be large enough to pass through Portflio or Kichler connector prongs. If you are going to use heavier wire, get a heavier one. By the time I figured out the mistake, it was too late to get the wire exchanged, so I was Find a big box store that sells your connector and purchase it there.

I find this wire to be really easy to work with
5/5

You're thinking what I'm thinking, but I'll tell you what I think. You're probably thinking wires are all that? Wire does not all equal the same thing. We're getting to the good part. Pliable is the first characteristic of this material. A hard, thick, or brittle coating would be a bad choice. Regardless of how you feel at this very minute, you will like pliable when you're crawling around on your hands and knees trying to bury this stuff. Additionally, it is easy to strip, so connections are made quicker, installation is faster, and there are fewer misunderstandings. I enjoyed it very much.

the corpse, and the dead will come to life
5/5

With this solution, you get good build quality at an economical price. I noticed a minimal voltage drop to a 12V source on a 200' run, perhaps because the copper is of a higher grade. It is on the menu for underground varmints, even though it is of good quality. Consider running this wire in conduit for underground burial if you want it to last.

This is a good deal
5/5

There is a review that said the wire is too thin to work with the portfolio lights from Lowe's. That was not an issue for me. We installed up lights on all of our trees on both sides of this 450' driveway, and it worked like a charm. I will buy this wire again since it has been such a great purchase so far.
