Questions & Answers
There is no difference in performance between the two voltages, but the device trips In order to troubleshoot the low voltage wiring, it is primarily designed to allow you to test for shorts.
This product is for 120v/240v systems with a maximum current of 5amps, which means it will trip on 120v/240v systems going over that limit. The unit is NOT to be used with 24 volt systems, it has not been rated for this application. Likewise, if you attach this device to a 24v power source, like a furnace control board, it will trip and shut down continuously. The frustration of having a transformer burn out, and the breaker trip without even having seen it, is immeasurable. I am speaking from experience and knowledge The description of the product is not very accurate so I had to send a replacement transformer to a customer.
The answer is yes. There is a maximum rating of 120/240. The circuit I use this on is a 24 volt, 5 amp circuit.

After smoking transformers on two separate occasions with this, I ceased using it. I had bought it thinking it would help find low voltage shorts. The 120-words in it may have something to do with it This is a tell-tale sign that it's not meant to operate on 24 volts.
Replaced five times and got tired of it As part of the process of troubleshooting an intermittent AC problem, we checked amp fuses. This is what I am going to do This is my very first attempt There was no blowing of the breaker Apparently, the transformer has done it.
As of now, I use them daily and have had no problems with them. Thank you for my purchase. I'm very pleased with it.
A technical bag must-have is this resettable fuse with ease of use.
You should use these all of the time. They save you time and money.
I love it.
