After a month of service, one of the units failed. I unplugged it and then reconnected it to my wifi router. It was not going to work out this time. I did the same thing to the other two units that were still working, and now I have none. I contacted Jasco about the issue, and they informed me that it is an issue with the Android app, and that they are working on it. That was over a week ago, and the problem has yet to be resolved. I can't get a copy of my receipt from Amazon, and they won't let me return them for a refund because it's too late.
The plug was already in my possession in its outdoor version. It was very easy to connect to my two computers. On my Asus router, I have a 4 GHz network. These plugs were unable to connect!! br>br>I contacted tech support, who were completely ineffective! br>br>I'm a techie with a lot of smart devices. So I persevered and discovered that, according to many of the reviews, dual band routers are not typically compatible with these plugs. br>br>So you can enable a guest 2 in your router. Alexa and IFTTT have their own 4GHz network. These plugs have a hard time connecting to dual band routers, even if the 5g network is disabled; this worked great and devices connected first time. br>br>I have several wifi switches and relays, and none of them have had this issue. But, just to let you know, this method works and is most likely the best way to connect these home automation devices.
The myTS app makes it simple to configure and pair these devices, but they don't always respond to on/off commands from the app - To get them to work, you must first press the refresh button and then immediately press the control. Strangely enough, they work quite well with Google Assistant. I bought them to replace some Wemo plugs (which did not have a sundown time-offset like my outdoor ones) because I had myTS compatible outdoor switches for lights, but I ended up keeping the Wemo ones until they improved the app's Android compatibility.
up Alexa. I'd like to see a "iPad" application. br>br>To replace the manual timers we use for Christmas, I bought three for outside and five for inside. Now all of the lights turn on and off at the same time, and you don't have to worry about having to reset the timers if the power goes out. If necessary, it is simple to deviate from the schedule. br>br>To set timers, I had to read the directions because it wasn't intuitive; I selected the edit feature and discovered that it only allowed me to change the icon picture and rename the device; BTW, to create and change a schedule, you just tap on the device, not the edit icon. br>br>Grandchildren adore using Alexa to turn on the lights!.
It is very simple to program. On the market, the best timer. It's very simple to program, and you can override it with a single button press on your phone app. This model is 100% superior to previous timers that had to be set by pushing all sorts of buttons and each timer had its own set of directions and etc. You're not going to be let down.
After you've installed the my touch app, setting these up is a breeze. Transfers to Google Home without difficulty. I like how you can set the device to turn on and off at different times with different programs.
This is a fantastic solution. I can use an app on my phone to control them, or I can simply tell Google to turn things on and off. They also function as a timer, which you can program into your phone's app!.
One of the plugs will be turned off by the touch smart software every now and then. I contacted the manufacturer more than a year ago, and they promised to contact me. They do a good job of what I want, and they're fine except for the fact that I had to try to install one two or three times before succeeding.
