Questions & Answers

What would the measurement be if the outer flange was removed?

Because the outer flange isn't a structural component of the window, it's not included in the rough or precise measurements. This window requires a minimum rough opening of 32" W X 22" H (Width X Height). The exact dimensions are 31 34/" W X 21 3/4 H, which is the frame's tip to tip measurement, excluding the nailing flange. The nailing flange can be used in new construction or scored and removed for remodel applications.

How big is the inner (moving) window frame? To put it another way, what is the size of the finished opening?

This window's rough opening is 32" x 14"br>The exact size of the window is 31" x 14". 3/4" x 13" x 3/4" x 13" x 13" 3/4"br>The movable sash is 29" long and 3/4" wide. 3/4" x 13" x 3/4" x 13" x 13" 1/2"

Is it possible to perch the window at an angle other than perpendicular to the frame when it's open?

When fully opened, the window is perpendicular (90-degree angle). to the frame (at a 45-degree angle). It will, however, remain in any position you choose (0 to 90 degrees). to the frame (at a 45-degree angle). So, if all you want to do is open at 45-minute intervals, that's fine. It will remain in place at a temperature of 32 degrees. I hope this information is useful.

"Actual:" is written in the 32x22 window. 75 x 21. 75". Is this with or without the new frame construction flange on the outside?

The flange is included in the price.

One disadvantage is outweighed by the value and quality of the product
5/5

Overall, the quality and cost of these windows impress me. br>br>The windows were well packaged and cushioned when they arrived. Each window (I purchased a total of three) was individually boxed and shrink-wrapped. To protect the ends that would come into contact with the package's edges, they were wrapped in firm bubble sleeves. br>br>The setup was simple, and with a little window dressing, it was even easier. low-cost entryway Great Stuff for sealing the edges, even on the below-ground level. I haven't felt a single draft coming through the windows during the cold nights we've had so far. The windows appear to be in good condition. br>br> made. To indicate whether the handle is locked or open, it moves between two distinct positions. Only about a quarter of the handle tip slides behind the upper ridge of the window frame to form the locking connection when the window is locked. Window security gets a B from me. It appears that if I pushed hard enough from the outside, I might be able to punch it in, but I'm not going to put that to the test, and I believe that if someone is trying that hard, this window will hold strong enough for anyone who isn't determined to break the glass. br>br>The only real drawback I can think of is that I can't seem to get my windows to stay open once they've been opened more than 20 degrees (see video). Other reviewers claim that the window will stay fixed in whatever position you open it to, but I have not experienced this. Mine sort of fall down to the fully open position once they've tilted past about 20 degrees. I installed the windows plumb myself, so I'm not sure why mine are acting strangely. br>br>It's not a big deal, and if I needed more, I'd get these windows again. The only thing I might do differently next time is angle the top a few degrees back from plumb to counteract the force of gravity that pulls the window all the way open after a certain point. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase. br>br> I'm still giving this 5 stars. . . rounded up from 4 stars.

I replaced two original basement windows with Park Ridge units because they were of good quality at a reasonable price
5/5

The old windows were single pane and had rusted/rotted out frames. What a stark contrast! The new vinyl windows were simple to install and far superior to the previous ones. They not only look good, but they also provide significantly more security than the previous ones. They arrived in perfect condition and on time. For those who are interested, I've included a few photos. br>Updated on 2/23/2018: The Park Ridge windows have been installed in the window wells of my home. My old, rusted steel windows would leak at the frames during heavy rains, causing water to accumulate on the basement floor. Wet vacing the mess every time it happened would take over an hour. The basement floor has been bone dry since the Park Ridge windows were installed, even during some major downpours, and I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

There's a lot of bang for your buck here
5/5

It seems ridiculous to buy basement windows on Amazon, but other reviewers persuaded me to do so. br>I have an old early 1900s brick over stone foundation, so nothing is perfect down there, but these worked great to replace my rotting wood window sills. br>Easy to install; simply slide it into a rough opening, make your own frame, or do what I did and skip the wood entirely, mounting it to a pressure treated top plate, and then mortaring the window into the foundation. br>Super fast shipping; unfortunately, Amazon sent me the wrong window, so I had to return it; however, a replacement is already on its way tomorrow.

For the price, this is an excellent window
5/5

I purchased two of these to replace two windows that were 60 years old. Taking out the old windows proved to be the most difficult part. It was relatively simple to install after the opening had been prepared and cleaned. We used the 6 screws (3 on each side of the track) to remove the window from the frame, cut off the plastic flanges that we didn't need, and then screwed the top to the wood above. Then, on each side, we decided that one 13" Tapcon screw would be sufficient to secure them. After that, we used Window. To fill the cracks, I used door spray foam and silicone to properly seal them. I am very pleased with the windows and installation.

It just stops working! These adorable little windows were simple to put up and looked fantastic
3/5

Unfortunately, after a few months, both windows shattered without any apparent cause or impact, which was bizarre! I'm stumped as to why this is happening. One of them was even on the inside of a building. Customer service was unhelpful and provided no explanation as to why this occurred. They simply told us to get a replacement from Amazon. However, once the return window has closed, Amazon customer service is unavailable. We installed nine windows in total in the small house where these windows are located (the two that broke were the only ones we purchased through Amazon; the rest were purchased in person in the area where we live) and none of the other windows have had any problems; perhaps it is a manufacturing defect with the glass? We have been unable to contact anyone from the window company or Amazon to assist us in resolving the problem, which is extremely frustrating.

These are ideal; I bought them because Home Depot didn't have any in the size I needed in my unfinished basement, and they were significantly less expensive than any HD had
5/5

I had no previous experience installing windows (and even less in general handyman work) and relied on YouTube videos for guidance. I ultimately purchased and installed four of these - They're of excellent quality, simple to install (for my purposes), and inexpensive. I have no complaints about these at all, and if I need another window, I will buy more of this brand.

I had to cut the plastic mounting flange off for my application because the quality was better than big box store windows and the price was lower
5/5

I was concerned about damage during shipping, but the packaging was the best I'd ever seen. As the window tilts in from the top, the bottom of the window portion rises about 4 inches from the bottom of the frame and is horizontal to the floor when fully opened, which is not clear from the description. The glass portion of the window can be removed with the help of small clips on the sides. It has a screen that can be removed. The frame has a drain hole on the exterior, so it can't be mounted with the opening down. I hope this has been of assistance to you.
