Questions & Answers
Is the height 10" well-made?
There were no screws in the package.
The bottom does not have a sizing option. To secure it to the chimney flue, there are screws on all four sides. I'm not sure what size clay flue I had, but it fit perfectly and was held in place with set screws.

The cap itself was far superior to anything I'd seen in the big box stores. It's not just wire mesh tack welded to a cap; it's actual sheet metal. Unfortunately, only three of the four screws were present when the cap arrived. This was due to the screws being thrown into the box rather than being screwed into the cap, placed in a baggie, or simply taped to the cap. Because the box isn't taped all the way around, I'm guessing it fell out of the un-taped side; I also wish the screws had pointed ends instead of flat ends, because they need to bite into the chimney stack.
On the 8x12 flue tile (flue is 7) it felt a little big. 5x11. 5. However, it is appropriate. In the box, the four bolts that hold it together were loose. The bolts' tips aren't pointed, but rather flat, and they're holding up for the time being. It appears to be in good condition, and it has stopped leaks from the ash cleanout in the basement.
It has a nice appearance and is made of stainless steel, which is strong and long-lasting.
This item has made me very happy.
I tightened the screws quite a bit, and even though we've had some pretty strong winds recently, it hasn't blown away, so they must be sufficient!.
Good quality product that is not flimsy, fits well, and appears to be durable.
I really like the lifetime warranty.
Strong enough to withstand wind gusts of up to 90 miles per hour this week. Installing it was a breeze.
