In a barrel smoker, we do not recommend using this item. Only as a vent guard is the item's durability guaranteed.
Only a small mouse would be able to fit through the holes; Mice, on the other hand, can navigate almost any obstacle. This grate, in my opinion, is the best deterrent available.
I'm not sure if ordering twice is a good idea.

I cut out a section of the screen cover with tin snips and attached a one-way door to it after purchasing this screen cover. Then I screwed this cover over the attic vent on top of the roof, where the raccoons had discovered a way into my attic and wreaked havoc on my insulation and, of course, my peace of mind. They'd leave at dusk and return just before dawn, making a racket and driving my wife and me crazy! The morning after I installed this metal mesh cover with the exit door, I heard the raccoons trying to get back in, but there was no more noise in the attic. They were unable to re-enter! It's been about three months since I put this cover up, and every now and then I hear a raccoon trying to get in before dawn, but so far the screen has held up and the critters haven't succeeded. What a wonderful sense of well-being. But I still have to clean up the messes they've made.
Screws are something I'd like to see included. It looks exactly like the ones the critter control people installed a few years ago before I added a new vent, in terms of color and durability. Given that this item is available for immediate delivery on Amazon, it seems reasonable to include 6-packs. 8 screws. I spent 15 minutes in Lowes' most dreaded aisle, trying to figure out which screws would be suitable for securing it while leaving the smallest holes in my roof. as well as putting them in the right medium. If you're going to send orders directly to people's homes, please include screws and charge an extra dollar.
We had a problem (thankfully in the past tense) with mice getting into the house through a small hole in the foundation. dryer vent that is fixed It would have been a pain to relocate it, and the other exterior vent attachment options wouldn't have worked as well so close to the ground. I made this cage fit snugly over lap siding and added an access door on one side so I could reach in and remove accumulated lint on occasion. Although it isn't particularly attractive, it appears to function. I've read that a determined mouse can squeeze through extremely small spaces, but it hasn't deterred mouse break-ins so far (a few months). ins.
My roof dryer vent was being used by enterprising birds to build nests. The vent was constructed incorrectly, running horizontally for a short distance before descending to the dryer's vertical run. They were able to open the flap as a result of this (!). ) and bring twigs into the room. This isn't just annoying; it's also dangerous. br>br>The cover was attached with only two wood screws (though there are additional holes for plenty of overkill) so that I can easily remove it, open the vent flap, and clean out any lint twice a year. In addition, the quality and paint color make a basket on your roof as unnoticeable as possible. It stands over an inch taller than a standard dryer vent.
study - It is simple to set up. These vent covers were used in a home where rats and squirrels were chewing on the plastic vents. These covers fit perfectly, were simple to install, and were sturdy. The openings were small enough that not even a mouse could get through them. It was a good deal - As a business owner, I'm always looking for a better deal; the only issue I've had so far has been with Amazon itself. The product did not arrive on time, the tracking was incorrect, and after multiple calls to Amazon, they could not even tell me where my packages were or when they would arrive. Fortunately, my client was flexible with schedule changes and willing to wait, or I could have lost a very lucrative job due to shipping issues, but that was Amazon's fault, not this vendor's. When the time comes, I'll place another order.
DVG- I'd be damned if I didn't climb to the roof and discover that the vent wasn't the same as the ones on the building that were more easily accessible. Tthe DVG- 3 was only an inch too small in one dimension, so I had to order the RVG1616G instead. Because it's so much bigger, I understand that it needs to be a little flimsier, but it looks like something that would be crushed by a tree limb or an ice fall. Furthermore, what was delivered was haphazardly molded and welded, with numerous jagged wire protrusions. I had to use needle-nosed pliers to declaw these. There are 72 holes in the base for attachment points. They can't expect a user to pound in 72 roofing nails and ruin a roof. If you need to work on the vent, I'd prefer a few keyhole shaped mounts so you can unscrew the base, slide it up, and remove it while keeping the screws in place and the roof intact.
We had a raccoon entering and exiting our attic through an older-style door. Vents in the style of We needed three covers for our three vents, so we purchased three. They were ideal for preventing pests from entering. The dark color appeals to me. They appear to be extremely stealthy. They're lightweight and easy to carry up a ladder, and they're a perfect fit. They're exactly what we'd hoped for. I saw the raccoon trying to figure out how to get past the cover again tonight, but he couldn't! THANK YOU SO MUCH!.
I put this wildlife guard on the side of an office building wall about a month ago to cover the vent/intake for a high-efficiency heating and cooling system. a gas furnace with high efficiency Birds continued to build nests in the intake pipe, but they are now unable to do so. The birds have returned and are now perched on top of the guard, unable to enter. br>br>I like the sturdy design and the fact that it's stainless steel, which means I won't have to worry about rust stains on the building's side. Wear leather gloves when installing this because the mounting flanges' edges are sharp.
