I'm not sure how long it'll go. ?

Unless you contour it like I did, it'll be every bit of 55 inches. Mine bends twice and is still 37 inches long.

What is the best way for me to choose a color?

That, I believe, is simply a matter of taste. So I'm not one to ask about color: I put my black one on a white downspout and placed it in my green phlox:

Do any of these items fit downspouts that are 4 inches in diameter?

That is not the case here. It has a Square attachment, as you can see.

What's the best way to secure it to the downspout? Screws?

That was the method we used to secure it. It performs admirably.

I was using the drainpipe with the spaced holes on my downspouts because I figured the water would travel a long way before coming out the holes

There will be no such luck. Yeah. What did you expect, right? In any case, they're fantastic. It was simple to attach to the downspout. They should be available in longer lengths, in my opinion. To make it longer, I bought two and cut slits in the ends of one and inserted it into the other. Duct tape was used to secure it, and it worked perfectly. I highly recommend it and have yet to find a better alternative.
