Questions & Answers

Is it possible to etch over a previously painted floor, or must the paint be removed? If that's the case, what am I going to use?

No, you won't be able to, you'll have to remove the paint yourself. The most common method is to use a grinder designed for the job, which can usually be rented at local equipment rental shops.

I'm going to etch the concrete garage floor before rinsing it and turning it into a paver driveway. Is this going to be a problem for the pavers?

When you rinse the acid solution with a hose and a strong stream of water, the acid becomes so dilute that it is no longer harmful.

This item claims to be suitable for indoor use. How can I ensure that all of the etching solution is removed from the floor before staining or painting it?

There should be no harmful chemicals left behind because the etching solution reacts with the concrete. To ensure that the paint adheres, there is a residue that must be removed. I've cleaned the floor with a water extraction carpet cleaner in similar situations. You'll most likely need to rent a larger apartment.

Is this going to cover a typical two-car garage floor (new construction)?

It'll fit into two boxes. A single stall can be done with each box. For our four-car garage (1028 square feet), we used four boxes. ft.

Renting a concrete floor buffer will save you time and allow you to skip degreasing and etching
4/5

It works; I can see the pores opened in some areas of the concrete as a result of this product, so I rented a concrete floor grinder from the orange home improvement store without hesitation. The 2 hours I spent with the concrete floor grinder were a better use of my time than the 8 hours I spent reducing the surface plus the 2 hours I spent with this product, which weighed around 180 pounds and was a nightmare to unload and load. Otherwise, it was simple to use and, in the end, it was well worth the money in my situation. br>br>This product has its place, but if any degreasing is required, it may not be worth the time; however, if you have a relatively clean slab to etch, this is the product for you.

It was unquestionably necessary to epoxy- Your garage should be sealed
5/5

If you're an epoxy enthusiast, You will undoubtedly require this when it comes to sealing your garage floor. This is a less acidic version of the previous one. There's more powerful stuff you can get out of these, but for now, this will suffice. It's less hazardous and easier to work with than harsher chemicals, but gloves and a mask are required. I ended up needing two packages of acid-resistant paper. etch for a one-time use car garage, and it did a fantastic job, as long as the rest of the prep work is done in tandem with the acid-etching process. etch. It's been a few months, but so far the epoxy has held up well; if anything changes, I'll update the review.

After using this concrete etch, the epoxy didn't peel
5/5

Before using Rustoleum Professional Floor Coating Kit, Silver Gray, I used EpoxyShield Concrete Etch. The concrete had lost its gleam and appeared to be very clean after use. Two months after I applied the epoxy, I put it to the ultimate test - It clung tenaciously to the car's tires and did not peel off. To get good epoxy adhesion, you must first prepare the surface. This item was necessary for proper preparation. br>I liked that it was non-toxic and non-hazardous while still doing a good job of preparing concrete.

This is an excellent product that I used on my basement floor before applying Kilz garage floor one-part epoxy paint
5/5

I meticulously followed all of the instructions. It was a PAIN IN THE REAR, but you know what? It was totally worth it. I got EXCELLENT outcomes. My floor looks fantastic, and the paint has adhered to the surface, so we'll see what happens.

Works well, and I would recommend it for Epoxy garage coating
5/5

I etched the concrete by following the directions. The rust-oleum professional epoxy shield coating worked great with it. It's been 7 months since it was applied, and there are no signs of separation or peeling.
