Armen Tavy is one of those guys you just have to like. It's not something most people would consider doing with their lives, but that's exactly what he's done. In the process, he's come up with a few useful and innovative products. Imagine sitting down, donning your thinking cap, and attempting to come up with a better way to space tiles. That's exactly what Armen did, and this is what he came up with. Yes, it works flawlessly and is incredibly clever. You can imagine yourself trying to pick out other types of tile spacers later if you go to a store and look at them. The Tavy spacer, however, is not one of them. You simply reach down and remove the suckers. There will be no fiddling, prying, or attempting to grab something that is embedded in concrete. These are the only tools I'd ever use to lay tile.
Spacers are fantastic. The inline and corner options are both practical. One thing to keep in mind: not all spacers, whether from the same or different manufacturers, are the same size. In general, only use spacers from the same manufacturer that are of the same type. Also keep in mind that because these are slightly harder plastic than the soft white spacers, they perform better in terms of maintaining a consistent gap between the tiles.
As expected, the delivery was on time. I like these two-sided spacers for corners or the body of the tile because they are simple to use.
These were purchased to be used as wall tiles. They kept falling out, so they gave up and went back to the old school spacers. It's a nice design, but it's probably best for flooring.
Much better for floors, but not so much for walls.
I recently completed a floor with a total of six people. The only option is to use tavy tile spacers. I've had a lot of success with these on 12 x 12. I recently completed a floor using 6 x 24 tiles, which turned out beautifully. These spacers are easy to remove because they sit on top of the tile. Because they're made of a tougher plastic, they won't get pinched in between the tiles and will maintain an even spacing. On one side, the spacers are double-legged, and the other side is ideal for keeping the corners of four tiles evenly spaced.
For in-line and cross-section tiles, this is a good choice. These are much more powerful than the typical small crosses. One section can be cut off to be used as wall tiles.
