THERE'S A RUBBER MAT ON THE FLOOR! Of course it has a rubbery odor! But not by a large margin. I was surprised it came rolled up because I expected it to be difficult to flatten. When I laid it down on my basement floor, it was very soft and flexible, and it quickly flattened. I bought it because my basement is always damp, and I wanted to put it in front of my washing machine so I wouldn't have to walk through it. It's a fantastic-quality product. At a surprisingly low price, you get a high-quality product.
This item is fantastic for the purpose for which I bought it. I've tried every litter mat on the market to prevent tracking, but none of them seem to work very well. Tracked litter is a major annoyance for me, especially since I have eight cats. I saw that this could be used as a litter mat and decided to give it a shot. I put a pee pad under the mat and the litter boxes on top of it (because they dribble over the corner of the uncovered litter box sometimes). There is a small amount of litter on the carpet near the mat, but there is no more litter in the rest of the house. For the first few days, it had a strong "rubber" odor that pervaded nearby rooms, but that went away after a week. Also, if you're not buying for cats (which I'm sure most people aren't), this is a high-quality mat that I'm sure will withstand heavy foot traffic.
This unit is especially useful for long periods of standing and collects chips and dirt, so be aware that it will need to be picked up if used in a dirty environment. This is the fifth mat we've purchased from them, and they've always been prompt and accurate.
Mats of excellent quality, heavy and dense, and extremely comfortable to stand on. Drain well from the bottom up and through the entire structure. With all of the small moulded in grooves and channels, they're a little difficult to keep clean. It's not a big deal, but I'd simplify the patterning a little to eliminate spots where dirt and funk could collect.
So far, it's been fantastic for the price; I use it in my home shop and stand on it for four hours every day. 8 hours when media blasting, machining, or just messing around with something while standing still (I move it around a little). I'm pleased because it hasn't melted or been cut by hot metal chips yet.
These are fantastic mats. They're not the thickest, but that's fine because I didn't need thick for this project; they're well worth the money, and I'll keep you updated if they get squirrely. br>They delivered on time and in good condition.
I read a few reviews where people complained about the smell of some mats, and while they did have a rubber smell at first, it faded away after a few days. At this price point, this is the best mat I've found.
Customer is very pleased. It's nice not to have to walk through water in my basement bathroom any longer; it allows the water to drain while keeping my feet dry.
