This is a fake product that was purchased on Amazon at such a low price. First and foremost, I was unaware that Amazon is not an authorized seller of Schluter products, so Schluter will not be responsible for anything purchased from here. br>br>Secondly, this product is either a knockoff or a quality control reject. I had to rip out and re-install sections of the installation because I couldn't get it to bond properly. do itbr> I compared the two sheets after purchasing a replacement from a local dealer, and there are clear differences. The fleece is thin and hard, resulting in a poor bond to the subfloor. This product does not match the dimensions of real Schluter. br>br>This is not due to a lack of experience, as I have used plenty of ditra in the past. br>See photosbr>The left membrane is a fake from Amazon, while the right membrane is from an authorized dealer. I had no choice but to remove the entire system! Do not purchase anything from Amazon.

This was a fantastic solution. Before installing it, I rolled it backwards to reduce the curl and let it sit flat for a few days to make sure it was flat. It went down smoothly, and the heating system has created a very comfortable floor.

It's a little pricey, but I'd buy it again for the amount of time it saves and the ease with which it can be installed. br>br>Here are some observations based on my personal experience: br>br>This was created with Schluter's cable in mind. That was not something I used. I used a different company that was significantly less expensive (hopefully not in terms of quality!). That cable didn't quite fit snugly, but it did the job. To make up for it, I ran the cable a shorter distance before turning around and using the turns to keep it in place. br>br>Schluter has very specific installation instructions, which you can find on their website, and they're also very nice to talk to if you have any questions. br>br>This was my first time using a Ditra product, and I found it difficult to fill in the waffles (or pegs, in this case) while tiling over. I did this in two parts: first, I leveled the membrane and filled in the gaps between the posts, then I applied a second layer of mortar to secure the tiles. That was a fantastic outcome.

This is fantastic! Warm tiles wire was used to create an in-floor system that surpassed all of my previous installation methods. Many people don't realize that after setting this into the thinset, you can string your heat wire right away and then install tile right away, which eliminates a lot of steps and ensures that the wire is somewhat protected during the tile installation process. All of the other methods I've used as an electrician and re-wiring specialist have failed miserably. The installation would take several days for a modeler. You're not going to be let down. Just be cautious when following directions. When applying tiles on top of modified latex mortar, one side will be modified and the other will be unmodified.
