Having the rug move and bunch creates a tripping hazard, and there were plenty of items for holding the rug in place on smooth or tiled floors, but this carpet tape was marketed to stick to smooth or rough surfaces. This was worth a try, so I did it. I was able to use it without any issues. Because it is double sided, I cut multiple pieces to be positioned along the edges and then two pieces to be positioned I was pretty sure it would have been fine with the edges but I wanted to make sure that it would stay put. There's been no movement of the rug so far. The product is excellent, and if I had to secure a lot of rugs for some unknown reason, this would be my first choice.
The width of that is quite wide, but not as wide as this brand at 2". There is no denying that this tape has more holding power due to its larger surface area. There's so much packaging that it's a chore to remove the roll of tape from the packaging. The tape should be packaged in waxy packaging to make it easier to remove. I can tell this roll of tape is strong because it is wrapped in waxy packaging.
