Nothing had held them in place for more than a few hours until now; I've had this on for about a week and it hasn't slipped once. It's not the most straightforward to cut through, but it's well worth the effort. Before pulling off the paper side, make sure to lay the sticky side down on your rug or floor; I threw away a few pieces because it was so sticky that it curled up and stuck to itself. I appreciate the reviewer who stated that it is suitable for use with rugs on carpet. Otherwise, it's possible that I wouldn't have attempted it.
