Questions & Answers

It is with hubitat that I have partnered. The "closed" symbol indicates the door is closed, and the "open" symbol indicates it is open. Is there anything we can do about ?

Setting the open/close state of the window can be done by using Parameter 2 [1 byte size]. If the magnet is far away then value 0 means the magnet is open. A value of 1 indicates that the magnet is open when it is nearby.

Are you able to use SimpliSafe alarm system with it?

Unfortunately, SimpleSafe is not listed as one of our compatible hubs, so we are unable to give you a direct reply on this topic. It is best to contact Simplisafe to obtain a list of Z-Wave compatible products in this case It is determined by how well the devices integrate Z-Wave It is possible to use wave devices to find out whether certain products will or will

This was supported by abode alarms before its release, but it's not listed as a door sensor with gen7. As long as it is only detected as a motion sensor, it doesn't appear anywhere else. Is there a way to fix ?

There may be a reason Abode Alarm has not added this product as a compatible product. You'll need to contact Abode Alarms to find out if they can add this product as a compatible device.

Could this sensor be used with the integrated LTE hub on the Deco M9 Plus?

Using the Deco M9 Plus, you can connect to your laptop through WiFi or via Z-Wave There is no direct connection between the listed hub and the Wave.

In their current state, they WILL work with SmartThings Hub V3 if they're PLEASE DO NOT OPT INTO THE PROFILE)
3/5

The following update has been released on We have failed at two of these. In both of them, the batteries ran out. The batteries became so hot after I replaced them that I could not put my hand on It was also hot when the battery was used. A short has occurred in the circuitry. This has disappointed me greatly. Several of these G7 versions came to me as a replacement for a previous generation sensor that I had been using for several years. My first goal was to return them because none of them worked no matter how many pairs they attempted Initially, the status would change, but then it would remain It is S2 security that is causing the problem. To pair with them you can follow the instructions, or you can use the app and select the "Recessed Door Sensor Gen 5/7" device. You'll have to scan a QR code on the box to pair them. As long as the device is set to use S2 security, it will pair, but not work correctly- at least my SmartThings Hub V3 running firmware version 000 did this. The solution is Ensure that the sensor connects using the unencrypted protocol - this must be done by forcing! The sensor was previously paired with the S2 security device If you scanned the QR code), you must delete the Hub before adding If you want it deleted, follow these steps 1 *br To access the sensor, open the SmartThings app and click the icon. The vertical dots ( are to be clicked. You will find it) in the upper right corner- 3. Select "Edit" at the bottom right-hand corner of your screen1. When you see the confirmation popup, select "Delete device" and then "Delete"*5. Press and release the tiny button on the front of the sensor as quickly as possible (I mean as quickly as you can) Initially, it will flash slowly, and then it will stop flashing. This is 5. You should see a message stating the device has been deleted on the app. You can pair the sensor by clicking "Done"

Please follow these instructions 1 *br Take off the Recessed Door sensor cap and then remove the sensor "guts" per the instructions and remove the battery (use a screwdriver to remove the plastic battery tab attached to the battery). 2. 3. Reconnect the battery to the sensor (the red light will flash and then it will go out)
4. The SmartThings App will now open (I use the latest version, not the Classic app)
4. To add a new one, click the "+" in the upper right corner Top left hand corner of the page
5. Choose "Device" at step 6. Simply click the scan icon in the upper right-hand corner of your screen. (It should now say "Scanning. " in the lower left-hand corner. 7 ")*. Press and release the tiny button on the front of the sensor as quickly as possible (I mean as quickly as you can) It should begin flashing very quickly, turn solid red, then turn off. To ensure that it does, you may want to remove the battery for 15 seconds and then put Ibid. , p. 8. There should now be a "Rename" button and an "Aeotec Recessed Door Sensor" listed in the app. You can rename the sensor to a useful name, such as "Front Door. " by clicking the "Rename" button. The ninth sentence. By clicking on the back arrow (<) at the top of the page, you can return there Back to the "Add Device" screen by pressing the back arrow in the top right corner. This is 10. By clicking on the back arrow (<) at the top of the page, you can return there You can go back to your devices by clicking again in the lower right corner. Then rephrase 11. You can find the sensor in the "No room assigned" group if you scroll down. Then 12, please. Select the other room from the list by clicking "Move to other room", then hold the sensor icon down and select "Move to other room". The 13th paragraph. The sensor should be reassembled and the cap should be applied. When you watch the icon for the device, you will see the status of whether the magnet is working. When the magnet is close, the icon should show Closed, while when it is far, the icon should show Open. Simply install the door liners as instructed and you will be amazed! I would like to believe that they are telling the truth when they say that the battery life is a real thing.

There's nothing more you could ask for than hidden door sensors
5/5

Use of a 3/4" speedbore bit made the installation fairly straightforward. All more doors were made of metal and partially blocked the z-axis, and this lesson has been learned in the past Due to the magnitude of the wave signal, I decided to install the magnet in the doors and the module in the jambs, being careful that the module was placed far enough back not to pop out of the sheetrock on the opposite side of the door. The access control entity has an open event of 22 and a closed event of 23. I am using these with Home Assistant and have been struggling during the setup process. It becomes a 254 on the same entity when they eventually fall asleep. It turns out that I needed to enable the Binary Report mode after some digging around. You can access Developer Tools by visiting this link The customer service line is available 24/7 You need to enter the following data in set_config_parameter* The node_id for this node is You must include a node id to access the node Here are the parameters that apply The area under the curve is 1
The binary_sensor entity will then produce "on" or "off" signals when this parameter takes effect. Allow the device to wake up a little while and then wait a while. You can find the Sensor entity in Configuration Customization and set the Device Class to "door" by going to Device Class in Configuration Customization. I probably spent ten hours on this task in total to get each of these devices reporting in Home Assistant correctly. It would have taken me less than an hour if I had known what I was doing.

I plan to work with Smarthings once I complete the first The Smartthings V3 sensor pairs with Smartthings in a special way as of 12/14/20, but you have to do it that way
5/5

The sensor will not work correctly if you follow the instructions in the package or use Steven's review. The door will appear to be open when the sensor indicates the door is closed. The microchip/battery must be removed from the plastic tube prior to pairing. Squeezing the tube and pulling out the microchip will enable you to pair. After you remove the plastic battery tab, you should be able to pull the battery out completely. When you place a new battery, the red light will flash, which will eventually fade out. Unless there is an indication of a red light on the battery, you should twist it in place to clear any debris that may have prevented the battery from connecting with As long as the chip is not in the tube, leave it out. It is now time to load the Smartthings app and then press the + button at the top right of the screen. From the hub/room screen, go to Device, then Aeotec brand, then Open/Closed Sensor, then Door 7 Sensor, then Start, then Next. The red light will flash several times and the pairing will reach 100% when you hit the button several times. During the next window, you will be asked to scan a QR Code, but do not forget to click on the X in the top right corner to exit! It is not recommended that you scan a QR Code or enter a code, as the sensor will NOT function You will see a message stating Exiting Secure Setup when you hit the X. I am sending you a follow-up message. When you reach this stage, you will receive a warning indicating that you do not have the highest level of security on, but disregard this warning by selecting OK and then renaming the device. After you remove the battery, wait 10 seconds and then replace it, your final step is to quickly replace When the red light goes out, wait for it to go out. On Smarthings you should see an indication that the chip is both open and closed if you move the magnet piece over top of it. Take out the battery again, wait 10 seconds and then replace it if it does not work. You won't have to touch it again once it starts to work perfectly. In order to install in your door or window, replace the lid, place the chip back in the tube and replace the lid. I installed eight sensors in most of our windows and doors, and all of them have worked great since I followed this process. The sensor only works with the lower Smartthings security, however this is not such a problem if you are using it as an open/closed sensor. The only time my review will need to be updated is if Aeotec or Smartthings update their software and this method stops working. Thank you for your help!.
