The device is awesome, and I was able to set it up right after I downloaded the Eve app, updated the firmware to version 1, and then connected it to the Eve app. They filled in their model number and other details on their "identify" page It's your turn- The evening of Website you can access as an "accessory" A brief introduction to the year The model number for the 2020 is Connect to the network via wireless technology with the 20EBN9901
Work with Eve Extend Supports Bluetooth / Thread (Firmware update for Thread coming soon, requires a HomePod mini)
Features I would highly recommend this product. This means you can finally use smart tech without needing a customized hub for every new piece of hardware you buy. Essentially everything will run Thread in smart homes and we will have a lot fewer junk hubs.
The total number of sensors I've purchased is nine, and I have chosen the three pack option each time. There was clear protective film on two of the three packs but it proved difficult to remove, while on the third, it was fine and the film was easily removed. It appears that the sensors are communicating with HomePod minis over thread since I have several HomePod minis in a few rooms. Generally, I found the company to be quite responsive, and thus far, I am pleased with the service. I also like the size of the magnetic part of the sensor, which is quite small, actually one of the smaller ones I've seen of all the door and window sensors I've As soon as these arrived they needed a firmware update and connected to HomeKit using Bluetooth instead of thread because the Bluetooth connection was incompatible. My HomePod mini would not connect over Thread until I had installed the new firmware update and sometimes had to take the battery out for a short time and reset it to get them to reconnect via Thread. After doing this, they connected via thread and have worked flawlessly since then.
It has so far been a very good experience. It was used to light up what had been dark steps in the garage that used to be unsafe. It is crucial to upgrade the firmware to the latest version in order to get this sensor connected to I am quite pleased with the speed and efficiency of the light after it has been updated and automated with hue bulb. Magnetic sensor is used if your door is made out of metal. This kit includes 3M adhesive, but I attached the sensor with Velcro so it can be easily removed when the battery needs to be replaced. I'm willing to deal with the hassle if the battery life holds up, but not sure how long it will last if the performance is as good as I am adding this to my growing collection of accessories for HomeKit.
I've used Eve products for quite some time. It's worth keeping in mind that this uses a pretty rare battery type, which could get expensive to replace in the future. It usually takes anywhere between a day to a week I'll get around 2 years out of the batteries but will have to buy them separately for about $10 each. My home hub and all the devices are connected There is no more than one second's delay, which is amazing! A Bluetooth device such as an Apple TV or a HomePod could be placed close to them since they work instead of wi-fi. A signal would be needed, otherwise they would not be able to transmit information. This is awesome because it eliminates the need for a hub to work with the Apple ecosystem! The purchase was great in the end!.
According to the description, the product worked just fine. Each sensor in this particular (3) pack came with a clear protective covering that was difficult to remove. It was not the same problem with the single pack that I purchased. My guess is that the (3) pack is an older product. Overall I'm satisfied, but it's frustrating cleaning up the adhesive residue and clear tape after each sensor is removed.
Don't buy anything without thread! You'll never get it to work! I love these. A couple of months ago, I bought some cheaper Bluetooth contact sensors, but they repeatedly failed to trigger and had serious delays. They work EVERY time, in contrast to the other Bluetooth door sensors I tried. The thread technology in these is phenomenal, giving them a consistent trigger and a super fast response time. These are awesome! I can't say enough good things about them! The price was well worth it.
Depending on the strength of the wind or the opening of your windows, it will work. These things need to be very close together for it A lot of doors and windows have lips around them that make them very difficult to place.
Simple to install, easy to connect to Apple Home Kit, and easy to automate.
