Questions & Answers

When the old sensor is replaced, is it necessary to replace the old wheel? Using a worm gear on the end of an old craftsman screw drive opener, I opened it. ?

It was an old Craftsman chain drive, but the plastic wheel was larger than the old one, so I had to adjust it a bit to get it to fit. If it does not work with the old wheel, I would try it with the sensor.

When I try to reverse the motor, it doesn't work Does the sensor installation seem to be going well?

It is possible that the rpm sensor needs to be replaced. The same thing happened to me with an older Lift Master door opener, which would start going backwards and then go forward. The problem went away after I replaced the rpm sensor.

Do you think it will work on a liftmaster 1280R?

The old sears opener I used to have was probably around 1992 or so and I fixed it, it may have been a bit different than what you had, but I think it's better somehow.

Can this be used on a craftsman 1/2 horsepower?

We have a 1/2 hp motor and it works just fine.

The symptoms are The GDO opens 12" but then stops
5/5

An elevator lifts It is a Master model 1255LM garage door opener A symptom is The GDO opens for a few seconds and then stops. As a result, I checked safety sensor lights, rails, wheels, chains, pulleys, and trolley, and carefully manipulated a door up and down manually while unhooked from the My order, 41C4398A, RPM Sensor Replacement, was confirmed to work as suggested online. I was impressed by the assembly that arrived and I felt confident that it was an OEM part. It appears that there are two differences between my old one and my new one, and each is one that is likely to be a product improvement. In contrast to my old RPM Sensor, which was attached using only two plastic retainer prongs, the new sensor features an additional hook which clips to the metal plate itself. Using this method, the Sensor does not move out of position in case of . . . I have an interrupter cup with a 1-wire on my old RPM sensor. There is a half-inch diameter on the old one, and a 1 inch diameter on the new one A 7/8" diameter is recommended. In my opinion, this makes it more visible to the sensor and reduces the possibility of it catching if either is moved by vibrations, and in the event of bad weather. There is a contraction or expansion associated with it. * br / * my problem was solved when I installed a new Sensor assembly, and now the door opens normally. As directed in the instructions, I tested my Safety Reversal System by placing a 2x4 under the garage door so it was lying flat on the floor. Due to the DOWN limit adjustment screw not reversing, I had to increase it by 1/4 turn by turning the DOWN limit screw counterclockwise. In the end, however, the 2x4 positioned the door correctly so where the obstruction had caused it to stop, the door stopped in the correct place. had disconnected the power to my garage door opener before beginning this fix, and I strive to always be as safe as possible!.

I don't believe the part that said it would work for any make or model! Before making your purchase, ensure that you have done your research
3/5

Although I am very skilled in mechanical stuff since I have been doing it for years, I am embarrassed on this one because my mechanical mind said it might work if you only pay close attention. However, I didn't pay close enough attention to see that it was the same part. The answer to that question is no. There are two totally different ways to use motors for two totally different purposes. You should also be cautious because Liftmaster and Chamberlain will state they are compatible when searching for parts. There isn't always truth in what people say. My non-returnable items are non-returnable because the cost of returning them is more likely to be higher. That's not too bad of a price to pay. Here is what I hope will help.

This fix is quick and simple, and the old opener works like new
5/5

A Craftsman 139 I've had for over 20 years has been repaired. It takes 53479 minutes to reach the airport by public transport. Using a screwdriver to open a box. In this case, the door was moving six to ten inches and stopping suddenly. The opener light bulbs never flashed like they do when the sensor beam is damaged. The spring and door were adjusted, but it did not work. I lubricated, adjusted, and relubricated but it did not work. Following online reading As I opened the access door from the side, I saw the green SRT light flash five times when the opener was hit. It took me less than two minutes to remove the housing (2 screws at the bottom) and replace the old sensor board with the opener still attached to the cabinet. Because there was no difference in appearance between my old and new plastic wheel, I did not replace it. For $15 and only 5 or 6 minutes I was able to save $200 on a new garage door.

I sent a bad sensor, and I had no way to return it after seller verification
3/5

The return policy does not apply. A representative from the company confirmed that the switch would work with my Chamberlain Liftmaster model LW5000EV. There is no such thing. There are five prongs on the sensor, but the one I got has four, so it won't In addition, I am unable to return it. You can save money by shopping locally or by checking eBay. My sensor is useless, so I have no choice but to dispose of it.

I like how the LED blinks five times when the battery is low
5/5

Unlike some OEM replacement parts sets, this one was excellent. This set of circuit boards included a retaining clip for the circuit board and an There was a brochure included with my opener (Chamberlain Security +) this is a classic and I've had it There was a green LED blinking five times over and over on the opener at the learn button. I noticed that it was dropping a little and going back or it would just stop, and the opener lights would blink. There were times when it would go halfway down before stopping, and other times when it went all the way down before stopping. As a result, this was somewhat intermittent. If you are having the same problems as I was, I wanted to let you know what I did to fix it. New parts have solved my problem, and now my door functions as it should. I appreciate it.

'Blonde Female Saves The Day,' she captions
5/5

I was confused when my garage door went haywire, so was my husband. He said the whole thing was shot, and that we were going to have to replace it for $300. It took me no time at all to realize that was a lot of money for shoes. On the bottom of my opener was a lavender button blinking in the dark, so I climbed up a ladder and went looking for it. I found this site after a quick Google search diagnosed the problem. Even though I wasn't confident that I would be able to replace this device, it turned out to be quite easy. A different person said that the hardest part was taking out the screws. As it was hot in my garage, I started to sweat, and I do not As it turned out, Captain Caveman got genuinely worked up again when his new part didn't work. That tiny thingamajig on the back wasn't pushed all the way in, so I finally figured out what the problem was. Thanks to you, it worked now! A reward for all the money I saved was to buy myself a new pair of shoes. There is no reason for you to waste your hard earned shoe money on someone replacing this part. I can do it, and I am sure that you can as well.

Keeping cautions in mind, medium fix
5/5

Despite the fact that it fixed the problem, it wasn't the problem in the first place. Those wires were loose on the harness, I think. The vehicle moved away from you by moving one foot out and one foot back even after installing this part. It took the wires a full cycle to travel a full circle after wiggling them. As well, make sure that the motor/worm gear is pushed back all the way and that the two allen screws on the collar are properly tightened. If it is not, the interrupter cup is likely to jump out of alignment when the motor starts. *EDIT In the end, it was incapable of causing the problem after being replaced twice. In my case, the mainboard had to be replaced since it had degraded over time (mine was built in 1998) and the solder had broken. The rpm circuit was the problem in my case. There are some cases in which you can resolder, but it didn't work in my case.

It was an exact replacement part
5/5

It was easy to In the past, I had to replace the logic board in my 30 year old craftsman opener that had never been a problem since new and it worked fine for about a month until it started acting My replacement sensor solved the problem temporarily, but the problem reappeared shortly thereafter. After all this time I figured it was time to purchase a new garage door opener, so I purchased a new sears craftsman model. Having a product last 30 years is more than one could hope for from a modern product.
